We stayed 3 nights in this lovely chateau. Our room was large and we had a modern bathroom. If you want a quiet escape this is it! No TV - who needs it in this lovely spot? The owners made us welcome and were helpful with recommendations on where to visit and where to eat. Super breakfast in a lovely... More

My wife & I received a friendly welcome and a great recommendation for a simple supper down the road in a nearby town. The room was large, quiet, clean and comfortable and hey, it's a castle: What's not to like?

Unique place, polite/helpful/with a sense of humor hosts, great location! We stayed for 3 nights, the breakfast was impeccable(fresh and dry fruits, fresh croissants, local scones, muesli, granola, milk/fresh orange juice/tea/coffee,cheese or bresaola, bread, homemade marmalades etc😋), the chateau is surrounded by a very big area covered with trees, grass, flowers, all natural, there is also a boat to use for free... I stayed here with my wife for five days on our honeymoon a year ago (the selection box wouldn't let me select April 2014). It was the beginning of the season, so it was quiet. Nicolas and Christine, who were the most open and generous hosts, greeted us upon arrival. They helped with guiding us to places to visits, and... More

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We had a wonderful warm welcome from Nicholas and Christine. Magnificent historical chateau in excellent condition throughout. The grounds are extensive and you're encouraged to use them, we saw red squirrels in the trees and deer grazing in the grounds at sunset. The heated pool is lovely. The rooms are comfortable and of... More

We spent a pleasant week-end in this charming castle, which is a nice mix of history of France and modern comfort. The owners are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a good time With a real melting-pot of guests.

Chateau la Touanne is truly a lovely place to stay for a short break. Beautiful setting and great hosts, lovely rooms and good wine and home cooked food. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in France. I can really recommend this hotel..... Enjoy.

Sadly, this was only a one night stay en route to a holiday in the Lot-et-Garonne. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed by the family, having arrived using Sawday's guide. The pool was lovely after a long drive from Calais. The room was perfect - beautiful antique furniture, huge bathroom and enormous bed. Dinner was delicious accompanied... More

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the cottage for a fortnight this summer. The accommodation is very comfortable, well equipped and quiet. The grounds and swimming pool are really pleasant and relaxing. And the owners, Nicholas and Christine, are charming and very helpful hosts. If you have time, do take the rowing boat on the river, and take their dog, Cirrus,... More
