We stayed two nights in early August on our way south and enjoyed it very much. Noizay is a few kilometres north of the busy Vouvray/Amboise road along the Loire and the chateau has an attractive garden and pool with plenty of outside seating. Our room on the first floor of the main building looked onto the garden and was... More

The Relais & Chateau badge raised my expectations and somehow I 'wanted' a 5star, a wow experience. When I am on holiday I always look for the wow experience. Here everything is just nice. No wow. Rooms are nice, service ok, food nice, setting good etc etc... Nothing to complain about (I could list few things, but nothing is bad... More

This hotel was definitely full of charm and old world style. You really felt as though were staying in an old chateau. What enhanced this experience was the fact that the building has no air air conditioning, and the service is very slow as if you have all the time in the world ( something Americans have a hard time... Coats of Arms on the landing of the wide wooden staircase that slopes a bit with age. Stained and painted leaded glass. Dark woodwork, handsome mantles, giant beams in the ceiling. Stay here if the weather is cool. If it is hot, insist on a room in the air conditioned annex or skip it.

The chateau is lovely and has beautiful gardens. The atmosphere inside is wonderful, big wide staircases and large rooms full of character. The dining is superb along with the service, the staff are very attentive and helpful. We stayed in rooms 9 & 10 which had views over the garden and the pool with free wifi ( a lovely surprise)... First, the good news: great location near Tours, beautiful chateau, pretty garden, lovely pool. Fantastic beds, American style showers and big bathrooms. The bad news: dark decor (none of the light airy colors seen on the web site), overcomplicated expensive food, and understaffed. They certainly try very hard, but for the price it is not worth it. There are better... More

We stayed one night on our way through the Loire. We had originally booked the clocktower room but were offered a room in the main chateau - and it was lovely. We did this since it was cool enough and pleasant to leave the windows open - but the main chateau does not have air conditioning. The room was large,... More

Travelling through the Loire valley, we stayed one night at this small, elegant hotel, in Room 19, on the 1/f of The Clock House. This is a very compact, comfortable room, with a pleasant view of the front of the chateau and driveway. The room had loud, dated ('70's) decor, with repro furniture, no shower or whirlpool tub. The cuisine... More

My husband and I stayed in the Chateau for four nights in May and on the whole we had a pleasant stay. All of the staff without exception were very gracious and accommodating, we couldn't fault them. The housekeeping staff were particularly good and the rooms were very clean. We dined in the restaurant on one of the nights -... More

While on a short two day visit to the Loire Valley and its chateaux we stayed at this lovely chateau. The rooms were good sized with beautiful views of the valley below. The bathrooms could do with a little upgrade and I do missed having a bath curtain, but then this is France and you have to improvise. The public... More
