We were travelling from Cheltenham to Norfolk on a Sunday and stopped here for a coffee. The place was empty and the staff were setting up for a function or something. But they were very friendly and the coffee was good. We stopped in again on our return journey on the Wednesday evening. It was about 5 pm and again... More

Myself and my husband stayed for one night on 11 August 2014. We were offered room 9 and told on arrival (after we had given the young receptionist our card details), that the window in the room had to remain closed. After questioning the receptionist, she informed us it was due to the neighbour's dogs. We accepted the room as... More

Thank you for the feedback - the towel rail is fixed. Room 9 is a very popular room with our regular guests (despite the neighbour's dog - he's a sweetie really) and your £85 rate compares very favourable with the average £130 achieved Bed & Breakfast double rate. The hotel was quiet that night and our mangaer had taken the... More

Just returned from two night break at the Cartwright Arms. Everyone was extremely helpful - reception staff, waiters and waitresses and in fact nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. We ate both from the Market Menu and the Alacarte and was not disappointed. The attention to detail was first class in every way. The breakfasts were varied... More

Stayed here recently for a family wedding - arrived early and staff were welcoming and allowed early access to the room. The room was cosy and comfortable and the full breakfast next morning was ample and tasty. Staff were polite, courteous and friendly and helped booking taxi's etc to wedding venue nearby.

Stayed here for a night recently. Arrived late afternoon and pleasant welcome. Sometime after arrival noticed we had no hot water. The problem was quickly and efficiently solved by us moving to another room. Had a pleasant evening meal - only 3 other diners present!. Reasonable breakfast, good service - we were the only diners! A very pleasant hotel, attentive... More

My wife and I, using a voucher, had a very enjoyable meal here on the 24th July. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was well presented and tasty. We hope to return again in the near future.

I had my birthday lunch here on Sunday with a total of 16 people. From arrival to departure, the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious - we had pre ordered the food due to the number of people and sometimes this is a concern as you tend to get food cooked much earlier,... More

We visited here with a friend that was staying in the hotel, we had the antipasti starter which was delicious, so we were excited about our mains. I had rack of lamb, it was over cooked, chewy and horrible. My husband and friend had fillet steak, again over cooked and chewy, even the veg and potatoes! Very disappointing as the... More

We are finding it difficult to give educated feedback - you ate with us in April and your review is July! I know we sold 115 Rack of Lamb in April and many Fillet Steaks for which we have a very good reputation. Please try us again - i'm sure you will not be disappointed. More

Our second visit to the Cartwright, and not as good as memory serves. Firstly this is not a cheap hotel, and this is what made me give this a 3 instead of a 4. The food here is very good and good value too. The cheeky chappie who served us dinner was very good and made us feel welcome. The... More

I have stayed at the Cartwright on 3 separate occasions after it being recommended by Turweston Airport near Silverstone. It is 20 mins drive away from Silverstone and is a hidden gem when you compare it to the other "chain" hotels Rooms are clean and tidy with character, but the things that really makes the hotel are the location. Great... More
