Far from the madding crowd----far from everywhere. It was a truly lovely get away. This hotel is about two and a half hours from Budapest. Has to be a destination resort--otherwise you would never find it. Once you are here--no where to go, but you wouldn't want to. We had a beautiful suite (so glad I didn't find out until... More

Wide variety of actvities and a very pleasant reception. When entering we got a glass of champaign and as a present of the hotel our wives received a massage. A (small) petty is the fact that the personnel does not speak English very well, the food was very good but not excellent and the driving range was nothing but a... More

Superb complex set in a beautiful location. The hotel is closed throughout the winter which may explain why they charge what they do making up for their loss during closure. Staff very professional and attentive. Particularly the lady on reception. Spa. Facilities in the basement of the hotel were very nice and clean. On our first night we stayed in... More

THE HOTEL:6 star The hotel are absolutely beautiful and immaculately maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean. The service is outstanding . All in all I would save my pennies for another trip to this beautiful and exceedingly well-run hotel. THE RESTAURANT:2 star Food was ok, tiny portions. Wine list was passable but very expensive.Service was terrible. We had to... More

Was lucky to spend a perfect autumn weekend at Hertelendy. A once in a lifetime experience really. Never thought that top luxury can be so much fun. One of the very few places that actually look and feel the same as they are portrayed on the website. The castle is to be found in the very heart of Somogy, far... More

I spent 4 night last August eith my family, we were giveb a Deluxe apartment which is just 150 m from the Castle main building and it was the best choice as it was spacious including also a kitchen and an outside courtyard/garden where kids could play, but I wish to remark the excellent service and all lovely people working... My husband and I have recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We had a wonderful time and will return as soon as possible. I cannot think of anything negative to say about this hotel. The reasons why this hotel is wonderful are numerous. It is a small, genuine, 5 star hotel in the deepest countryside. It is surrounded... More

We went for an afternoon tea. The tea and coffee with a cake were perfect together with the hospitality of the staff. A beautiful place to get away from the world. We asked if we could look around and straight away we were offrered bikes so we did that. As we were cycling around we watched a small plane taking... More

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. A small boutique hotel - not a big, impersonal 5 star hotel property. As others have said, the service is impeccable. All the staff are perfectly charming and they will do whatever they can to make your stay perfect. This included opening the spa 30 minutes early for me and giving us... More

Positives; service impeccable. They don't know what to do for you to enjoy your stay. Upgraded, smiles, happy to offer you any dish you want to try. We had the special spa package which includes one massage daily, breakfast and 4 course dinner. It also included English tea but coming from London it has nothing to do with what we... More
