We had one of the mountain suites, quite unique thatched domes. A bit tired, handles didn't work. The patio was not protected from the afternoon sun. Perfect out door setting and we saw gemsbok and various differ types of birds. The breakfast was very good

From the moment we arrived in 30 degree plus mid-afternoon heat on New Year's Day we were impressed by the friendly, unfussy welcome we received from every member of staff who dealt with us, or bumped into us in the main house. This threw into sharp focus how much the weary traveller appreciates courtesy, kindness and efficiency and how comparatively... More

We stayed in the self-catering cottage for 2 nights. The cottages are nice and spacious with comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms. The units are serviced daily. There is a braai outside, as well as inside which is nice if it is windy/ cold. There are lovely view points from where you can watch the sunset. We would have loved to... More

About 5 years ago, we stayed here, in one the 'exclusive' Mountain Suites. The large and quirky interiors of the free-standing suites, the panoramic views to the west and suggestion of Atlantic ocean, combined with the silence made for a magical stay. The food and service were all top notch. We decided to make a return road-trip just to stay... More

This old manor house is somewhat tired and dated. We were greeted on arrival but had to carry our own luggage. Our room was large and unwelcoming. The bathroom light did not work and we were given a table lamp standing on the floor with a long trailing flex until the next day, when the light was fixed. We were... More

27 kilometers from Springbok in the middle of nowhere, this retreat is ideally located for a good stop in Namakwa. Easy access to Springbok and its surroundings. Dinner is refined and presented in a beautiful manner - set menu with two choices and on the two days we were not disappointed. Service is unequal, dependent on with whom you deal... More

This report is based on 2 lots of 3 night stays during August. It takes account of higher expectations for higher cost accommodation. We last visited 8 years ago. Overall good food and accommodation though with some issues The lounge, breakfasts and gardens and surrounds made it stand out from other accommodation on the trip Issues with no hot water... More

I am always worried about returning to somewhere where I enjoyed myself previously. I needn't have worried - Naries is still as welcoming and beautiful as ever. Our room no.5 has a dual aspect and was beautifully decorated with ensuite. Since my last visit even the food seems to have improved to another level (don't see how this was possible!)... More

We started our Namaqualand flower journey in Naries. Since our last visit 15 years ago the hotel has been upgraded with really friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable with basic bathrooms and our room did not have a shower. On the Saturday evening cocktails were offered at the hotels mountain boma. What a pleasant surprise - the glass enclosed boma... More
