We recently stayed in one of the self-catering units for one night on our return from Namibia. We had high expectations, but ended up a bit disappointed. The receptionist was friendly, but there was no warmth. The SC unit was spacious and well-equiped, but that is about as far as it goes. We were welcomed by a strong smokey smell... More

We recently stayed at Naries while visiting Namaqualand for the nearby wildflower show, which was spectacular. We originally had asked for all three nights to be in one of the remote mountain suites but wound up spending one night in the main lodge, which gave us a good basis for comparison. The main lodge room was spacious and comfortable though... More

Naries is beautifully set, surrounded by plants & trees & fabulous views. The Weaver birds were a constant entertainment. The bedrooms are comfortable & spacious & we had the benefit of being surrounded by 3 windows so were able to lie in bed & watch the dawn! Wonderful!!! Even though the hotel was full, there were plenty of places to... More

We stayed in a self catering cottage for one night in July. The cottage was gorgeous and in a beautiful setting. The food was amazing and the staff were so helpful. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and help our friend retrieve her bag from the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

We stayed in one of the self-catering cottages for two nights during August 2014. We found the cottage very comfortable and well stocked with everything needed and very good value for money. The flowers around the cottage were beautiful and we enjoyed the short walking trails. The wood provided for either a fire in the cosy fireplace inside or for... More

We stayed in one of the self-catering cottages at Naries for two nights. For the price, the cottages could be more thoughtfully/comfortably decorated – the space was a bit stark/impersonal compared to other cottages we’ve stayed at in South Africa. However, the cottage was well-equipped and we very much appreciated the fire place and the free full bucket of firewood... More

A lovely room, facing the rising sun, a lovely garden remote among the hills and particularly lovely people, only too willing to help and advise. The food was great and the location perfect for visiting Namaqua flowers at Goegap and Namaqua NP. This was a very enjoyable two night visit.

The mountain suites are awesome, they are build around rocks and are very distinct. In one of the suites lives a gecko which is named Godfrey, there is a note to don't hurt him if he worries you. Instead you should catch him with a hand net and put him outside... The view from the balconies is also very nice... More

We have just spent two nights in one of the self catering cottages. What a find. With two bedrooms, each with an ensuite, a kitchen and lounge with indoor fireplace, it was just perfect for a few days of relaxing. The staff were great and the manager is a real

We stayed at Naries Retreat on the way to the Richtersveldt. The accommodation was luxurious. The weather outside was very cold but the rooms were heated with rooms, electric blankets on the beds and lovely hot baths (showers also available in bathroom) meant that we were warm and cosy inside. We had the dinner, bed and breakfast option. Dinner was... More
