Where better to find an overnight stay on the road from South Africa to Namibia then the Narries Namakwa Retreat. situated between Springbok and Kleinzee on the minor tarred road the R355, some 27km west of Springbok and just before the spectacular Spektakel Pass. Situated in arid , bare hills , we arrived just before sunset and what a welcoming... More

We stayed 2 nights in one of the selfcatering cottages. It had excellent view over Namakwaland, but the location was quite windy. The cottage was well equiped and comfortable. Walking the trails was pleasant; the reward being the magnificent viewpoint.

Our first visit there was planned just as a stop over on our way from Namibia back to Western Cape but after arriving we found that it would be much better to stay longer. The accomodation and the service is fantastic, everything clean, the dinner was excellent like in a top restaurant amd the friendlyness of the owner and the... More

We where very much surprise with our accommodation. The location is very peaceful, private and well equipped. If you enjoy nature with zero noise we will definitely recommend it. Our only regret was that our stay was so short

We had a great time in South Africa, Namakwa. We were really surprised by the beauty of the country and the very gentile persons. But that Hotel was really one of the best we had. The Service was excellent and friendly.

the lodge is about 25 km West of Springbok and the detour is worth the effort. Time has stood still in this lovely Resort. The rooms are clean and the Service is friendly and sufficient. We have been here just one Night, but thought that could be a retreat for a whole week especially during the "blooming time"

We stayed 3 nights in a Mountain Suite and really enjoyed our stay. The mountain suites are very unique, half cottage, half cave but very comfortable. The are seperate, but close to the Manor House where you dine. Great views and the estate has good walks. Food was excellent and warm friendly service. We plan to return and highly recommend.... I spent two nights here in September 2014, and enjoyed myself immensely. Room 4 in the Manor house was very comfortable, great bath and shower, excellent bed. The back dutch door opened out on a small patio which was edged with large blooming lavender plants which scented the air wonderfully. Grape vines on a trellis stretched between the manor house... This was our second stay at Naries, in the Manor House. The welcome was warm, the room very comfortable with good linen, a big bed and a strong shower. The dinner was superb and matched our previous unexpected good fare. A hearty breakfast rounded off a good stay, and more than made up for the 27km from and to Springbok,... More
