Really enjoyed the stay. Woodwork was unique and extremely well done. A tad expensive for what you get, but does include dinner in the price. Food was excellent as well! Might just have to see what the other treehouses are like.

We stayed in the 'fantasy' treehouse, which we were so excited about - 2 adults, 2 children. Dont bother taking kids, there is absolutely nothing for them to do unless playing pool in the bar area is considered acceptable. This place is unbelievable... 1. The ground floor room, apparently the lounge, about 2m x 3m, had two hard wooden chairs... More

My boyfriend and I spent a night at here in September 2014 in the Pegasus Room. We felt very welcome and were well looked after. The tree houses are a feature own their own. The woodwork and décor in the rooms is out of this world! If you're looking for something relaxed and totally different, this is the place to... More

My son has been dreaming of a stay in a treehouse hotel and this was our first. Their individually designed, handcrafted tree houses were very comfortable and cozy. We were very unlucky with the weather as the temperatures dropped and we were ill prepared. So the fireplace in our little family tree house was a welcome rescue. the tree houses... More

My husband and I visited Sycamore Avenue in Decemeber for 2 nights on our mini honeymoon.. and it was absolute magic. We stayed in the "pegasus" treehouse and we were absolutely enchanted. The woodwork has such detail, and every lock is a contraption of some kind- a pin, a lever, a wheel. After a year of hectic long distance wedding... More

Picturesque quaint tree houses. Kitchen staff were delightful. Basic home cooked meals. Expensive. Not much to do on the property. Very private. Disappointing. Something different definitely. Spacious grounds with lovely views.

The location is just off the highway but peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in the romantic treehouse which was just fantastic! Quirky stairs leading up and down the treehouse, a steam room, nooks and crannies with books and balconies to relax on. The craftsmanship is spectacular and worth the money to stay in a work of art. Will definitely return... More

Why would one stay in boring, same old accommodation if you can sleep in a private tree house built by a master? We were planning on staying just one night in Faraway treehouse but unfortunately our first night fell on the chef's night off.... All the entries in the guest book in the beautiful treehouse, mentioned the great food and... More

I love the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands in Winter – think cosy wood fires, full cream sherry, hot bubble baths, and spectacular crisp starry skies. And what better way to enjoy all of these lovely things than in the most characterful of stays - a treehouse. Made entirely of beautifully crafted wood, the treehouses at Sycamore Avenue are magical spaces in which... More

This was my second stay at Sycamore - the first was in the Romantic treehouse and this time I stayed with my family in Planaquarium. I really love Sycamore - it is an absolute masterpiece and there is something very special about staying in a work of art. The service is absolutely wonderful and the food is so good. Sycamore...
