Family of four spent 2 nights in late march over spring break. This was a perfect location for getting away from the hustle and bustle and city life and enjoying quiet, peaceful solitude with the natural setting of El Yunque. Owner/Hostess Barbara has created a wonderful paradise on her 6 acre private retreat. We rented two of her Casita's, one... More

My husband and I just returned from a 4 day, 3 night stay in La Cabana. We had an amazing time. I had been researching for about a year for a remote rainforest destination since my husband and I both are not big beach goers. Casa Picaflores was the perfect spot for us! Barbara is a wonderful and fascinating host.... More

My wife and I loved the casita, the quiet, swimming in the lagoon, the frogs at night, the perfect weather the last week in January, the guided nature hike in El Yunque she set up for us. Barbara's stories and the sustainable agriculture tour of her operation were fascinating. Restaurants were a ways away.

We stayed in La Cabaña for four nights in February. La Cabaña is a adorable little place with screens for walls and an incredible outdoor shower (take a shower in the moonlight, it's wonderful). Unfortunately, La Cabaña is the cabin closest to the road, which had a street light right outside the gate and surprisingly frequent traffic (we thought this... More

We stayed in the house on the property for only one night with our three teens but it was an amazing, wonderful adventure. Barbara is a lovely host, her dogs alone are worth the trip, snacks, wine and breakfast are provided in the house and the grounds are beautiful as mentioned in other posts. Something not to miss if you want to... More

We stayed in the cabana and loved the outdoor shower, views of the grounds, and serenity of being in the rainforest. Barbara was so lovely. She provides snacks, wine, and a small breakfast in the room and she was kind enough to give us a tour of her aquaponic greenhouse. Make sure to bring dinner, as there is no way... More

We stayed one night and had an absolutely fantastic stay. I echo the reviewer who said 'words cannot express the beauty of this place'. We got a bit lost getting there, the sign for the turn-off is not as clear as it perhaps could have been. However from the moment we turned into the property all the stress of finding... More

My partner and I spent the first 3 nights of our lovely Puerto Rican vacation here at Casa Picaflores. We stayed in the Casita, a 1 bedroom small house, located on the property. The Casita wa very cleaned and was pleasantly stocked with breakfast food items, cheese, beer, wine, and chocolate. The roads leading up to the property can be... More

Oh my goodness, words cannot express the beauty of this place. Getting here was ok, I thought it would be harder but surprisingly it was not. Follow the directions but dont turn left at the metal bridge stay straight.) , beautiful appointments to the cabin (modern hardware, shower, fans, and lighting all impeccable). Bring food because the cabin is remote... More

We stayed at Casa Picaflores in early May of 2013. We stayed in the screened casita next to the pond. What fun! At night the coqui frogs sang to us -- and we never slept so well! The landscaping is amazing. Don't miss the natural rock "pool" toward the back of the property. Above all, we will never forget Barbara.... More
