We spent a week in this friendly guesthouse in a quiet Saxon Village at the end of the road. Traveling by public transport it is nice that Archita has a train station. The atmospere is quiet and friendly and Steve, Natasha, André and of course Simona try to do anything to make your stay really comfortable (altough we didn't met... More

The town was off the beaten track, adding to the experience, and the guesthouse was a little gem! The food was very good, the service excellent, and the beautiful fortified church just outside the door was breathtaking! Mountain bikes available for exploring the gorgeous countryside. Loved it!

I have visited Romania 5 times on extended trips but this is really something. If you want the real rural Romania this is the destination to head for: a beguiling mix of old world charm and genuinely great hospitality from the charming owners of the guesthouse, all set amongst a village centre still preserved as if in the middle ages.... The Archita Guesthaus makes the extra effort required in reaching the village worthwhile. About 15 minutes off the A60 outside of historic Sighisoara, a mixed paved and dirt road brings you to a stunning country village which tranports you back in time. True, there are at least three cafe/bars in town, but the locals still keep their own animals, and... More

A nice guesthouse far out from the main road which gives you a wonderful look into the Romanian countryside. The owners are very friendly and can organize activities.

I really did found it for a surprise. You find yourself a century ago in a village, that is totally unspoiled and lives in its peace like really nothing happened around; Very charming. Guesthouse is spotlessly clean. Kids most enjoyed the homemade chicken noodle soup. I would highly recomend this place, can be great as a base for bike trips.

We found the place on the net and and we chose it because we expected it to be: - A place well situated for easy day-trips to Sighisoara and the neighboring Saxon villages - An place to stay that is not in the middle of the super-crowded citadel in Sighisoara - A genuine "living in a village" experience for us... Natasha and Steve were the best thing on our Romania visit. They organized us trips to locals, we met a goat farmer, a munk, a retired teacher etc. to have very interesting conversations. Natasha and Steve worked as translators also. We got opportunity to see very local living in very idyllic Saxon village, had delicious food, and very flexible service.... More

What can i say, this is the full package, whether backpacking or simply savouring the taste of Romania you cant go far wrong with a visit to Archita and a stay in the guest house. Run by an American called Steve and a very friendly guy, he has created a gem in the heart of Romania. Sample the excellent local... More

We stayed in Archita for the week-end. The rooms are nice, i didn't take pictures but they look pretty much as on their website. I rated 4/5 for cleanliness because it is a rural village and you can expect to walk through mud and play with animals, but the rooms have their own bathrooms equipped with everything you need. This... More
