We stayed here one night. First, on the rooms, there are deluxe rooms in the main building and then there are suites - 6 of them. Ask for S5 and S6 - these are closest to the wide azure Punatsangchhu River, which flows right below the hotel. Suites S1 and S2 are furthest up the slope of the hill, and... More

The rooms are good, warm with the help of the electrical stoves, and showers hot. So the Bhutan essentials are covered nicely. The bathrooms have a bit of a sewage problem, though (they were smelly). Staff was helpful and friendly. Some Internet is available at the reception, although it did not provide the most stable connection and you have to... More

Punatshanchuu Cottages are on the banks of the river. It, in fact, borrows its name from the rive – for, the river too is called Punatshanchuu. By the time we reached the hotel, it was almost dusk. How are the Punatshanchuu Cottages in Wangdue, Bhutan? Just what you will fall in love with!! The property is by the side of... More

Puna cottages are beautifully located at the bank of the Punatshangchhu river in Wangdue. The cottages are roomy - with a beautiful wooden look and feel, a private balcony, and a stunning view of the river. The most peaceful place to unwind after a trip to the Punakha Dzong or the Fertility Temple. The hospitality in the the place is... More

Bhutan is a remarkably beautiful and largely unspoilt country, steeped in history, tradition and culture – with limitations on tourist numbers. Also, all buildings (hotels inclusive) are restricted in design, architectural style and floor levels (5 or 6 maximum) – so no 5 star international hotels/resorts. For the sake of an honest review I will not compare any of the... More

Puna Cottages has an idyllic setting overlooking rice fields and the Punatshangchhu River. Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast sufficed, and the staff was attentive. The internet connection is spotty, as it is in many places throughout Bhutan, but available in the lobby and restaurant.

I Had a room with a balcony and a great view for three nights of a two week trip to Bhutan. The breakfasts were not great and kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed. There was Wifi only in lobby. Overall it was pleasant stay.

Stayed 2 nights in one of the rooms (not a cottage). Spacious & adequate. Balcony had great view of Wangdue on other side of river. Windows difficult to operate to get fresh air. No internet in room & seats in lobby crowded & uncomfortable. Food average--nice spot to stop at if you are on way to another destination. Peaceful &... More

Stayed at this hotel one night. The room was quite spacious and spare but adequate. The biggest complaint I had was the shower access was quite high and not easy to access for an average height person like myself and worse, the shower doors were off their hinge. Only one side of a slider worked so stepping in was extraordinarily... More
