Unfortunately, I barely got to do more than sleep and shower before my stay was over, but the room certainly exceeded my expectations for Val Marie, a town of 137. Lovely views of Grasslands National Park, great birding at the nearby pond. Room looked very nice with a kitchen, table, and lounging area that I never had a chance to... More

Cozy, clean and well appointed with quality bedding and towels. Home away from home. Attentive and knowledgeable hosts. Complete kitchen facilities. We stayed in the north suite and feel it was an excellent value. You can hike into a corner of the park from the resort but the Ecotour route is a 20km drive away (Val Marie is 5km away).... More

We loved camping at The Crossing Resort. Nice shelter for tenters to use to cook in bad weather. Great showers and location. The grasslands were beautiful. Saw many amazing birds and heard coyotes at night.

My husband and I stayed at The Crossing Resort because we wanted to visit Grasslands National Park but did not want to camp. One night, there was a tremendous electrical storm so I'm really glad we weren't camping! We stayed in the separate, deluxe suite. It was clean and cozy. The kitchen was a great size. The fridge was large... More

I visited the Grassland National Park end of May. I arrived late that night and it was almost sunset. Johanna was really friendly and super helpful. She showed me the 2 suites on the 2nd floor and the area around the house. I chose to set up my tent at the campground for only $15. I had a great shower... More

Stayed two nights in the new two bedroom "loft apartment" which is very well appointed with full kitchen (full sized fridge with freezer, microwave, full stove) satellite TV, wireless etc. Service was pleasant and low key - just what I was looking for. View from balcony over the edge of Grasslands park and a small pond was wonderful. The Crossing... More

The Crossing suites are absolutely the best. They are self contained apartments that are in a perfect location. They are clean and spacious, right on the edge of the Grasslands National Park. Remember to do some grocery shopping as they are not a B and B.

The location is excellent. The rooms are clean, comfortable and perfectly furnished, including a very well-equiped kitchenette. The hosts, Johanna and Ken, are wonderful. Johanna and Ken are experienced grassland supporters. They have helpful tips as well as interesting stories. They have a hand in the summer Star Party. Johanna has helped create the interpretive guidebook for Grasslands National Park.... More

This resort is on the edge of Grasslands National Park. The suites are clean and well laid out. There is a cook top, microwave and small fridge. Free internet was reliable. There is no air conditioning so in very warm weather this might be a problem but we found the breeze cooled the suite well at night. You must be able... More
