Our family spent 4 nights on Urraca private island during Christmas 2014. We were agreed that we would be picked up at 10 a.m. at the pear ( Bocas town) , but the captain was 3 quarters late..... Well, caribbean time is maybe not that strict that we are used to... No problem.... We forgot about that soon... When we... More

This is a special place perfect for anybody interested to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of Bocas del Toro on a unique, tropical mangrove island. Francine has created a modest but comfortable little retreat. It is nestled in-between other islands at the Southern most tip of Popa Island, near the Zapatilla Islands and a small... More

We booked what was advertised as a 2 bedroom place on an ISLAND, with access to a restaurant, bar and wifi. When we arrived after a 45 min boat ride there, was a studio bungalow on a mangrove (no land to be seen, so if you want to take a little walk on vacation forget it, you are stranded!) It... More

We loved our experience at Urraca! Francine, the proprietor, was a gracious hostess, an excellent cook and had impeccable taste. We stayed there in early May 2014 and had pretty good weather. It did rain one day, but we were able to have a fantastic day just reading and relaxing in the newer lofted building overlooking the sea. The other... More

It takes a bit of work to get to Urraca but it is well worth it. The boat ride from Bocas is beautiful. It rained our entire first day and it was still wonderful. Do NOT forget your snorkel and mask. You can literally enter the water from the front door of your private hut-over-water. Francine, the host, will take... More

My family's 4 night stay at Urraca was spectacular! Beautiful cabins and walkways built on a stunning mangrove. Our host Francine was so kind, warm & great fun. The water was clear and perfect for swimming or snorkelling, the meals of fresh lobster....yummy! Our highlight was definitely Francine's adopted pets: Toutie (the capuchin monkey), Quiso & Jojo ( the squirrel... More
