Popa Paradise is unlike anywhere else I stayed on our recent 3 week trip to Panama and Colombia. It has the community feeling of a camp or a hostel but with grown up luxury of beachside accommodation and great food and wine. It is the perfect place to unwind and disconnect from the world while enjoying ALL DAY LONG DELICIOUS... More

We stayed 12/25/14-12/28/14. Before we go any further, please understand that the limited staff running the resort are doing their best, and they all deserve the highest praise for keeping it together. That being said, this was a pretty disappointing part of our trip to Panama. We stayed in Casita #9 and paid $625 per night for our "luxury" accommodations.... More

Thank you for appreciating our efforts during your stay but I feel I need to justify some of the points you mentioned. Most places increase their prices over the Xmas & New Year period, your Ocean front Casita is $415/night in the low season (1 May-23 Dec) $495/night in high season (4 Jan - 30 April) and $625/night over Christmas... The resort has obviously gone through some bad times in the past. The current management team are working hard to build up the reputation and doing a very good job. Ziggy,Brendan,Silas , Bernardino and the rest of the team went out of their way to make our stay special. We were sad to say goodbye to them. The food was... More

Described on the website as “barefoot luxury” - and they’re not kidding. We started our two weeks in Panama here so that we could immediately unwind and disconnect. Silas (the Popa Paradise bartender, answers man, and all-around good guy) was there at the airport to greet us and take us by motorboat to the resort. No roads on Isla Popa... More

It was such a pleasure for us to have you both here! Thank you for writing us such an insightful review. We appreciate all your feedback while we work hard on getting the resort back in top form. Regarding the satellite TV, lightning took out our boxes a few months ago and the majority of them have gone in for... More

My wife and I spent three wonderful and relaxing days at Popo Paradise Resort over New Years. Rooms are very comfortable and have cross-ventilation for a constant light breeze. When we found a screen was missing on one of our windows, (we don't like to use the air conditioning at night, even though it was available in the room), we... More

We went to Popa on the 30th of december. The see was rough and the boat was inadequate. We arrived very wet and nobody was to give us a welcome or better an umbrella to arrive from the dock boat to the main building. We stayed in casita five. They said to us to protect our room maintining close the... More

While the seas have been rough due to it being the rainy season our boats are more than adequate and are all equipped with rain jackets. When you did arrive at 8am we made a huge effort to get you in your room, checkin is only at 2pm but we managed to keep you waiting with some coffee and breakfast... More

I went to PPBR searching for the combination of enjoying the natural beauty of Bocas del Toro, but also being on an island with a nice enough beach so as to not have the need to travel each morning to get to another island (as opposed to staying at Isla Colon). And I found that and even more. We got... More

we went here with our two adult daughters.. the surroundings are amazing, the staff and leaders, especially Ziggy, Alberto, Silas and Brendon are all kind, thoughtful and have a can do attitude. Place is remote so you get used to being part of a "family" in that you are happiest if you respect fellow guests and don't "hog" chairs/letc. Bring... More

Long overdue review, as we were there nearly a month ago. Had the place entirely to ourselves, through a fluke of scheduling. Ziggy, Brendan, Bernard, Silas--they were all willing to wait on us hand and foot, but we were happy to be more relaxed and help ourselves to the drinks in the pool bar fridge, etc. They brought our anniversary... Staying at Popa Paradise is akin to staying at an all inclusive adult camp with amazing friends you didn't even know you had. Food was awesome, service was 5* .... Ziggy, Brendon, and Silas made sure we were well fed and never thirsty. Looking forward to returning again.
