My partner and I were in Warrenpoint for business and decided to stay over and make a night of it rather than drive home. I found the oyster catcher online and was attracted by the great reviews. We both love Rostrevor and have spent a few nights there in the past. Its a very beatiful and friendly village. We arrived... More

I basically live in hotel's and bed and breakfasts between thursday and sunday, so, have gotten used to to the idea of them. they don't surprise me. The Oystercatcher surprised me. the views on the shore road were staggering, but on arrival at the house, I was led up to my enormous room, with an equally large bathroom by James... More

The reviews prompted me to book. On arrival we were taken to our room which was a converted garage with its own access through French doors or through the kitchen. The first thing we found was a blob of toothpaste in the toilet sink obviously from the previous occupants. You then start to look round. There was dust behind the... More

Picturesque, relaxing and peaceful location, accompanied by beautiful weather. The Oystercatcher and its proprietor, James, added much to a very enjoyable weekend. Clean and welcoming, with a superb breakfast which meant lunch was not required. Not only was James a good cook, but his mix of interesting and quirky tales kept a smile on our faces. An enjoyable experience with... More

James is brilliant. He went over and above to make me comfortable. Great food, warm when I needed to be warm, cool fresh breeze from Carlingford Lough and windows with a view to the Seapatrick Ferry coming in from Heysham. Rostrevor is well positioned for Newcastle, The Mountains of Mourne, rural County Down, and the south of Ireland - all... More

We had a great weekend in Rostrevor and the hospitality in the Oystercatcher only added to the experience. Warm spacious comfortable room with its own entrance. Excellent host with a great sense of humour and remarkable musical talent. First class breakfast. Everything A1. Will definitely call back !. The CD was superb too !!

We stayed on 2 separate occasions during February, and from the 1st arrival(late in the evening). Were made to feel at home from James who greeted us like long lost relatives.we too stayed in the downstairs apartment,so could come and go as we pleased.as we were backwards and forwards to hospital, this come in very handy,so as not to disturb anyone, and breakfast... I've stayed in some fantastic BnBs but this is something else. The host is a credit to the local area and words can't describe the breathtaking views. We had 3 nights in The Oystercatcher and will be coming back with friends and family over the summer for a local festival. We arrived early in the morning and even though it... More
