I was travelling in Northern Ireland with work and per chance got to stay in The Oyster Catcher. It was such a delightful stay, the host, James is so lovely. Makes you feel really welcome-I had a very early start and he put a beautiful smoothie in the fridge for me for the next morning. If I am ever in... More

Fiona Thank you for your very excellent review . You may remember that I did not charge your card and no longer had access to the firm's card. Could you please email me on james@cpddirect.com giving me details on who to send the invoice for £108. I hope you have a happy and peaceful break over Christmas and the New... More

My wife and I visited this exceptional little spot recently with four friends to attend a wedding in Rostrevor. The owner Alan was a perfect gent, with a welcoming and relaxing hosting manner. The rooms were perfect, with nice and clean bathrooms. With a day of socialising ahead Alan cooked up a storm for breakfast, making sure we left well... More

This was my second stay and as usual James and the Oystercatcher were absolutely faultless. James and his team were superb nothing was too much trouble and made you feel right at home. The guesthouse itself is set in the picturesque landscape of County down with stunning views of the local mountains and landscape. Breakfast with James and legendary smoothies... More

Great welcome and lovely clean room. Delicious smoothies for breakfast and local breads. James is an excellent host and suggested interesting places to visit. A highlight was climbing Slieve Martin but ask him about Spelga dam and the slope that defies gravity and proves the existence of the fairies! An added unexpected bonus was the CD gift- James is a... Sadly, we were only able to stay at the Oystercatcher for one night (and unfortunately the weather wasn't great). However, we had a fabulous stay at this delightful B&B. James was good company and a wonderful host. He looked after us really well, was very helpful, relaxed, informative and pleasant and made us feel very welcome. He told us about... More

Stunning views. Lovely simple decor. Comfy bed. Great shower. Excellent food. Charming host who treats guests as old friends. What more could you want? A very special place. Would highly recommend and can't wait to visit again. All that a B & B should be.

Great little retreat in a beautiful part of the world. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and a little sing song over breakfast. Highly recommended! If you get the chance, ask the gaffer for one of his LPs - you'll not be disappointed! A+++
