Surprised there are so many great reviews of the Oystercatcher. I'm from the states, so perhaps my expectations are higher. However, here are my thoughts. Upside: location of the Oystercatcher couldn't be better. Just across the road from the loch and beautiful view if you walk to the loch or view it from the upper deck of the hotel. Downside:... More

The Oystercatcher is a very warm and welcoming place thanks to the three people who run it. James and Jill chat to you a lot and treat you as though you've known them as friends for a long time. Both of them have a great knowledge of the surrounding area and are very helpful in so many ways. Bernie who... More

Stayed at The Oystercatcher begining of May 2014 and had a fantastic time. The B&B is in a good location overlooking the loch and has a great view of the Mourne Mountains from the breakfast room in the morning. The breakfast was fantastic, a full Irish fry up to set you up for the day, you can also have cereals... More

The Oystercatcher was a lovely B&B that has a breakfast to die for. A full Ulster fry keeps you full all day and the room I stayed in was well furnished and very clean. The owner James was very friendly and the with the beach a stones throw from the B&B for a great morning walk to burn up the... More

We arrived at this accommodation close to midnight after hiking up slieve donard (very close to it). When we arrived James was very welcoming even after coming in so late. Had a brilliant stay, breakfast was full of flavor and good quality. Brilliant location for mountain biking, hiking or just for a nice relaxing holiday. Lovely countryside nearby. Couldn't ask... We''ve just returned from a great time at the Oystercatcher! Beautiful location and very easy to get to! We decided on Rostrevor as a base for a week in County Down to visit friends in the area and to explore the many fabulous locations. Our choice of the Oystercatcher B and B was based mainly on Tripadvisor reviews and I have to say we were not disappointed. Lovely location next to Carlingford Lough and near to Kilbroney Park...
