We were staying in the area prior to a boating holiday departing from Tannay - found the hotel with the aid of trip advisor and booked direct - rooms are basic but not over priced - the great part was the restaurant for the evening in which we had the best meal of our trip - a short menu with... We have been coming to this fabulous little restaurant every Summer since 2008 and we have always received a delightful welcome, and we have eaten the most delicious food. The wine is also very good indeed. The price is astoundingly good value for the fantastic experience of eating here. This wonderful little place seems to cast its magic over you... More

What a great spot. Really rural small village just down the road from Vezelay. Vezelay is where King Richard set off from for the 3rd crusade and the Basillica holds the bones of Mary Magdelie. The meal with had was Duck and Beef. The hosts spoke English and we did not encounter any unwelcomed vibes from staff or guests. Great... More

We arrived on a rainy evening, late, with no reservation. The restaurant had been recommended to us by our French host. We were made very welcome, and had a superb dinner with an excellent bottle of wine. Highly recommend.

We booked a table for an evening meal and noticed anglais written beside our meal. We arrived for our meal and found we were placed in a separate part of the room. The meal was well presented but some with extremely small vegetable portion. That would be acceptable, but we felt isolated from the other diners. We pointed this out,... More

This place is really quite special. A charming little family run hotel, nicely renovated in a picturesque corner of rural burgundy. Its off the main tourist trail yet within easy reach of many must-see sights. The restaurant alone warrants a visit, and the garden terrace is enchanting on a glorious summer afternoon. Marianne, the host speaks fluent English and all... More

We had reserved a room at Les Deux Ponts based only on internet searches and reviews but are very happy that we did! It is a charming, small (8-10 rooms?), family-run 'auberge', recently renovated in a clean somewhat minimalist style, which offers comfortable, if not particularly spacious, rooms, a lovely gravelled terrace, and above all, excellent cuisine. As it is... More

Our hosts at La Cimentelle in Avallon suggested Les Deux Ports restaurant (in the small village of Pierre-Perthuis) and they were not wrong to do so! This was one of the best nights of our stay in Bourgogne for many reasons. The setting is a wonderful blend of traditional countryside building and minimal contemporary furnishing - and it works very... More

We stayed elsewhere but had dinner here, sitting outside on the patio under a full moon. This is one of the best dinners we've had in two years of traveling throughout France on an old barge. Only 10 km from touristy Vezelay, this was quintessential France, calm, sophisticated and high quality. The food goes beyond routine traditional French cuisine as... More

We spent a weekend in this hotel. It's a nice hotel with very friendly owners. The dinners are very good and a lovely sight when you're eating outside. It's a nicy place to stay and enough to see in this area.
