Maison Creme Anglaise is run by a charming English couple, Graham and Christine, ably supported by their menagerie of dogs and a cat called Rhubarb. The village of Montreal is full of charm and the buffet breakfast is superb.

We were six people, 3 teens and 3 adults, really looking forward to the vacation. Everything is nice in the lovely village, it's all really great, and as the title says, we would really like to give this review top score, but we can't... unfortunately.... We arrived later than planned, but the cleaning was not done, we left to shop... More

Thank you to Graham and Christine for another fabulous experience at Maison Creme Anglaise. Your hospitality and accommodation is exceptional as always. This was our third trip to Maison Creme Anglaise and it really is the most gorgeous retreat from a hectic life here in the city. The town of Montreal is a beautiful setting, with its 14th century historic... More

The wonderful hosts Graham and Christine ably supported by fearsome old English Sheep Dog Custard guarantee the best possible start to my annual trip to Provence. It is a place to relax and enjoy the wit and hospitality of these charming, intelligent people in a wonderful village.

My boyfriend and I were there in May 2012, we were in France for a good friend's wedding, and we had for less than a week for Paris and France countryside.. The initial plan was to stay at Maison Crème Anglaise for 2 nights, and then off to Paris. I first fell in love with the photos on their website,... More

We stopped off for 2 nights on our way back from the Alps- wish we had stayed for longer. The Battyes were very pleasant hosts. The house is a great space, as is the garden. The breakfasts were fab. There was a sociable atmosphere in the house, easy to meet and chat with the other guests staying there. The village... More

We have just stayed in Maison Grande Creme for a week and have had a relaxing time in a lovely property. The house is clean, spacious and very comfortable. The terrace has a stunning view across the valley. There was really nothing we could fault. Graham and Christine are very welcoming. The village of Montreal is a real gem- not mentioned... More

We stayed at the Creme Anglaise last Easter and had a wonderful time. Not only is the village of Montreal beautiful, but it's right in the heart of some great things to see and do in Burgundy. The accomodation was just perfect for a family get together, with the big lawn overlooking the valley just perfect. Our hosts too were... More

Our family stayed at this charming bed and breakfast on the way back from the Alps to the UK. Christine welcomed us on arrival and gave us a guided tour of the house, with winding staircase and great gardens. The rooms in the bed and breakfast are large, well furnished and have extremely comfy beds. The evening meal is excellent.... More

The photographs on the website under sell this property. We rent gites every year and this one is one of the best. The village is "very quite" and if like us if you wish to experience the ambience it is perfect. There is no shop in village but 5 Miles down a straight road is the Auchan Hypermarket at Avallon....
