We stayed here in January 2014 for three nights...all to see Northern Lights. This is by the sky station--about a 15-20 minute drive away. There is also a watching station near the hotel, about a 15 minute walk up a hill. The hotel itself looks right out of the Brady Bunch, architecture-wise. Very 1970s chalet. The lobby has a center... On a clear night in the winter months you stand an 80% chance of seeing the northern lights which we were lucky enough to see 4 nts out of 7. The hotel comprises of a block of about 45 standard hotel rooms and about 60 detached cabins called the Kappas Cabins. We stayed in a 2 bedroom standard cabin. The... More

If you're traveling as a family unit, this is a must-try property. The slopes are really gentle to little ones while youths and adults can have their share of fun further up the mountain. The rooms are really cozy and the restaurant serves a really delicious meal. However, parking can be scarce when the crowd comes in. Skiing is just... More

Brilliant accommodation with very nice rooms. Friendly staff helpful from check-in to check-out. Nice restaurant with great food. Great excursions for the perfect way to view the Northern Lights. Recommended. Trip booked through Off The Map Travel which is essential for a great trip to Sweden.

Arrived on the overnight sleeper train. The hotel pick your baggage up but you have to walk up the hill. Reception large with cafe bar and lovely open fire and free wifi. Room we had was modern but extremely small. Three of us in the room - large comfortable two singles shoved together plus large very good quality sofa bed.... More

Having just returned from 4 days at Bjorkliden staying in a cabin at Hotel Fjallet I can recommend this location and our holiday organised by Off The Map. We had a guide taking care of us, Jonny, he was excellent. If you are going to see the Northern lights be sure to go with Off The Map, they were so... More

We have just returned from 4 wonderful days at Hotel Fjallet organised by Off the Map Travel. We do not normally book holidays through travel agents but as this was more adventurous than normal we thought it was worth the additional cost. I would recommend that anyone considering a Northern Lights holiday books through Off the Map Travel, Johnny and... More

What an excellent location, situated in Swedish Lapland, a real wilderness adventure. There was limited light pollution at the hotel for excellent Aurora experiences on our doorstep and a short walk to the Aurora hut provided total darkness for first class photography. We stayed in Kabin 53 on the front row with unspoilt views over the lake & valley. It... More

The hotel and activities (snowmobiling, dogsledding, ice fishing and aurora hunting) were all pre-arranged via Off the Map Travel and what an amazing job they did. They were full of good advice ahead of time and were at the resort to ensure everything ran smoothly and we were all happy. We were blown away by the whole experience and have... More
