We visited this place as part of the Quilotoa Loop. It is not the easiest to get to, but it is definitely worth it. The staff gave us instructions to get there (bus from Latacunga & then they came up to the road to stop the bus, as when we arrived it was already dark). It was a cold night... More

If you are hiking the Quilotoa Loop, this is a must visit place. A bit more expensive for budget travellers, but a truly unique and rewarding experience. Worth every penny. We got off the bus and walked through the fields to this farmstay, got to see a real working farm, amazing home grown food, super friendly family, a highlight of... More

We just stayed one night at the Posada, but it's a charming place. The food is great, all grown at their own farm. Especially the yogurth is sooo good. Margarita and Marco are great hosts and so is their whole family. The rooms are quite cold because there is no heating in the rooms. But there are a lot if... More

We cannot say enough good things about Posada de Tigua. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, the food (breakfast/dinner included) is amazing and comes directly from the farm, the location is very quiet, the rooms are quite comfortable....... we could go on forever. We rode a llama, milked cows, played soccer with Benjamin (the gigantic St. Bernard puppy), and... More

We became familiar with the existence of this off the beaten path hacienda when researching our trip to the Quilotoa Loop in the Central Highlands of Ecuador. However, we tried many times to find a way to contact them via email or phone to no avail. We were persistent and had a driver take us there the day before we... More

Pros: 1) Every person was more than polite. Service was perfect. 2) Food was incredible. Be sure to try the home made chocolate with bananas. 3) Worth every dime. The cost for 3 persons was only $105 total per night. 4) Lunch is incredible and only $9 per persons. 5) Free llama rides which were awesome. 6) Beds are very... More

It's a nice farm situated in a very remote part the andean Pàramo. The place has a warm stove, a nice furniture and a kind and friendly staff. I tried only the restaurant, simple, basic but good quality food and (in this area is very important) with purified water. It was an excellent place for lunch after a hard trekking... More

My rating would be higher, but our room was a disappointment -- although in other respects it would rate 'very good'. The Posada de Tigua felt like the most sincerely authentic experience we had in Ecuador. As others have said, this is a working farm not designed specifically to accommodate tourists, and that is its charm. It is not a... More

La Posada de Tigua was definately my favorite accomadation during my 1 month visit to Ecuador. Its about a 15-20 minute walk downhill from where the bus drops you off. The weather is quite cold there, but you wouldnt know it because the hacienda has wood burning stove that keeps the whole house super warm and cozy. Sheepskin cushion coverings... More

This was my favorite place to stay during my two week trip to Ecuador. Margarita and Marcos are wonderful hosts, even though they speak very little English. And I speak very little Spanish. Still, things were smooth, meals were absolutely the best I had in the country. It's a working farm, and while not 'luxurious' is very comfortable. If you... More
