I paid about $30/night. Credit cards accepted. Not a four-star resort by any means, but you'll be OK here. Two restaurants onsite: I tried the front one and it was surprisingly good. Wifi. Hot water showers. Little worn down but clean. Good location close to the cathedral, the voladores, the mirador, and the Plaza Mayor. Ten minutes in a cab... More

As long as your expectations are not too high, you will be happy here. The location is great and the hotel has a large rooftop sign, making it easy to spot when you arrive in town. We walked here from the ADO bus station in 10 minutes. (If your luggage is heavy, take a taxi.) It is uphill, towards the... More

Some reviewers rated this hotel much better than I, thus presume that rooms vary in quality and comfort. Mine, the bathroom especially, had a very strong odor of mildew. Opening the very large louvered shower window brought in fresh air but it could only be opened fully, thus exposing you to everyone in the adjacent building and since Papantla can... More

Papantla is yet to see a tourist boom and the accommodation choices tend mostly to the lower end of the market. Hotel Tajin makes an effort to rise above that with, let’s say, modest success. Tune your expectations to the surroundings and you will avoid disappointment. The good: conveniently located right by the Zocolo, clean, well maintained and moderately comfortable... More

The Hotel Tajín is in the very center of Papantla, just off the zócalo (main square). Everything you could want or need is a stone's throw away: a late night supermarket, bus stations and collective taxis, and restaurants. The hotel itself has a good restaurant, open 7am-11pm, which offers a hearty breakfast buffet til 11:30 for 90 pesos. Highly recommended... More

The hotel is very conveniently located near the cathedral and the zocalo. Rooms are clean, the internet works, the AC a little noisy. There are many steps outside the front entrance, it is probably better to arrive from the back to avoid the climb (ask you taxi driver, if possible, if they know the back entrance - that will be... This is a cool little place and a good value at $35. Beds were comfy, showers hot, air cold and the pool very cool, and the place is clean. Location next to the square was a plus, made you feel like you could explore the town and not get lost. 24 hour guard on parking was also nice. It was... More

The staff at Hotel Tajin were very nice and helpful but they didn't speak English so you had to know some Spanish. They were helpful fixing our air conditioner. The pool was refreshing and the restaurant was good. We did not think the rooms were over-priced it was around $40 a night. The shower did not have much water pressure... More

I read the other reviews of this hotel before I booked a room there and was confused. I was more confused after I spent a week there while exploring the nearby ruins of Tajin an the vanilla plantations. The room was clean, and comfortable and reasonable at $40/night duriing the Christmas holidays. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel... More

The hotel did a great job on their website but it gives an impression of an decent-quality hotel. This is not the case. The hotel is outdated in every way. The window air conditioner barely works and smells of mildew. The bathroom has a large window for ventilation since the air conditioner is a window unit and doesn`t cool it... More
