Hotel perched on terraced cliff with absolutely gorgeous view of Laguna Bacalar, a fresh water lagoon composed of 300' deep cenotes. Each room has balcony overlooking lagoon. Kayaks available to rent. Pontoon boat rides. Swimming in lagoon or pool. Excellent for families. Quiet, clean hotel and town. Jolly, attentive staff. Good restaurant on premises or excellent ones close by. Staff... More

Okay, so if 5 stars, silk sheets, amazing decor and lots of amenities is your thing, this is not for you. If a retro (think 1960's) decor in a beautiful place where you can relax for a night dive and/or swim in the cenote, have a decent meal and unwind (perhaps on your way to/from a dive trip to Belize!)... this is the worst hotel at which I have ever stayed.Everything was run down/shabby/cracked/rusty. Our room reeked of sewage. There were no facilities in the room. The toilet didn't work and there was no hot water. We left at 6.45 in the morning to get away from the smell. The road to the hotel has terrible potholes.

Don't believe all the negative reviews about this hotel. Yes, it is a little tired, yes the service is not fantactic....However you are staying in 70's retro classic....in spacious rooms which represent great value for money and have huge windows with magnificent views of the lagoon along with large balconies. There are also chalet type place for families and groups.... More

This hotel was fine as a place to stop over for a night, and definitely offered beautiful views of the lake. However the reception staff were incredibly rude on our arrival, acting as though we were an inconvenience to them and a mere disruption to the conversations they were having with one another. Wouldn't get your hopes up for the... More

Such horrific service. When we arrived the lady on reception didn't even know we had a booking and was incredibly difficult about locating our booking and made us do it ourselves. The women on reception persisted in being rude and unfriendly throughout the trip. The bar and pool are alright but not great. The views are spectacular but the rooms... More

The receptionist could not have been ruder or less accommodating. She acted like she was doing us a favour by letting us stay there and refused to show us to our room until we got up the booking reference on our phones, even though she would clearly have had an email from booking.com and should already be on top of... room was okay. wifi didn´t work inside our room. the view over the lagoon is good. the hotel itself is too far away from the town center. you´ll need a taxi. no shops or good restaurants nearby. the hotel restaurant is bad! I´m a budget traveller and I eat a lot of the cheap street food all over the world,... More

The Hotel was good we arrived prior to the Check in time and where given a Nice room # 206. The views are stunning from this Hotel. The Hotel staff always was friendly accommodating and always available to assist and help. The hotel is a bit dated but I known this prior to booking. It offers decent room with internet,... More

Other than a wonderful view from some of the rooms, this hotel is very old and the service is terrible, and it's because of the view that i rank this hotel as Poor and not as Terrible. The truth is, rooms are old but clean and somewhat spacious, but they look old and the price is very expensive for what... More
