We hadn't actually booked at Mis Casas but at a neighbouring property - who denied all knowledge of our booking! A little stressed, we found Mis Casas at the end of an admittedly rather long bumpy drive, but were given a very different reception! Beer in the fridge, a peaceful jetty to lounge away the afternoon, free use of a... More

Kim and Kathrine are the loveliest hosts one could wish for and their home is just as lovely too! If you are looking for a little island of peace off of the beaten track, Mis Casas is the place to be. We (a musician and a botanist) found in Mis Casas the right environment to stimulate our senses and to... More

If you're looking for something a little different from the standard high end hotel with beach chairs all in a row, imagine having a little suite on a lake, in the jungle. The suites are self contained with kitchens, although you can also join group meals in the big common area palapa. You can mix it up with locals and... More

My husband and I love it there - and we are always sure to visit when we are in the Yucatan peninsula. It's at the quiet end of the lake, lots of nature everywhere, very pretty. It's nice to have a homey place to stay with a good kitchen because we like to cook our own meals - the screened... More

My adult son and I spent two weeks at this lovely mini-eco resort on the north end of Laguna Bacalar. Our helpful and knowledgable hostesses, Katarina and Kim, offer clean, one or two self-contained bedroom apartments, plus an accessible apartment. Use of their kayaks and canoes are free to guests, as well as use of the large palapa, with kitchen.... More
