We cannot say anything but wonderful things about this jewel of a place. Please note that it is located at Kilometer marker about 28.5 and down a gravel/dirt road but is directly on the lagoon. There are only 4 rooms so there is plenty of space for guests. We stayed at La Estrella casita. The owner is an exceptional chef... More

after 1,5 km of a very bad road (but you can do it safely) you reach this place that makes you feel you're far from everything we stayed at Venus which is really a large place. as we travelled with our two kids we appreciated there is water, a hammoc, nice decoration that makes you feel welcome it provides a... My husband and I stayed here for two nights, and wished we could have stayed for at least a week. The location on the lake is beautiful and the garden is very well kept. There is a perfect spot by the lake to sunbathe or laze on the hammocks. There is a suspended bed under shade by the water too... More

We loved our few nights at Casa Aqabal. Unfortunately it was raining for most of the time, but even then it was beautiful. Yolanda and Pedro are awesome. Pedro cooks the food, if you request breakfast and dinners and it was some of the best food we had. He also makes a great frozen margarita! The location is right on... More

I live north of Tulum and often go down to renew my plates on my american car and pay taxes. This place is priced very well and is nice, quite and clean with warm water ;-). It includes fantastic breakfast made by the owner himself ! They brought it to our room with juice, fruit and fantastic coffee. I am... More

We can only reiterate what so many others have said: we loved Casa AqAbAl and we'll be back. In a tightly planned visit, we booked only one night but extended to a second because the rooms, setting, food, and hosts were so lovely. Yolanda and Pedro have designed their off-the-grid oasis so well you might not realize this little slice... More

This is a wonderful place to stay Just minutes from the town of Bacalar and very private. Located right on the lake the property slopes up the hill side offering plenty of breezes to keep you cool. The adorable deck, patio and dock area on the lake was fun to hang out at anytime of the day but in particular... More

Spent 4 nights at Casa Aq A Bal with a friend for bird watching and kayaking, which we did just down the road with some guides at Villa Ecotoucan. Yolanda and Pedro were great hosts, and I especially loved Pedro's cooking. After trying his food out the first night, we opted to purchase dinner every night. It saved driving back... More

Yolanda and Pedro have created a unique spot to stay here. We stayed one night in the little casita Estrella (cosy, sweet and comfortable), then four nights in the apartment La Venus, which was perfect for us - very spacious, light and airy. We loved seeing the birds in the treetops outside our many windows, and being able to do... More

We found this place online and booked after reading all the good reviews and fortunately they had a room available. Yolanda was very helpful to pick us up in town since we arrived by bus. She even helped us exchanging pesos to belize dollars at the local bank when leaving. They were so hospitable and friendly It felt like visiting family... More
