Stopped here for a two night stay with our teenage daughters as part of our trip around the Yucatan. It is a very lovely spot. The lake is warm and inviting to swim in and the free use of Kayaks was a real bonus. We headed to the other side of the lake where there was a beautiful display of... More

We had a lovely two night stay here in June 2015. Robert was a fantastic host. It's a bit of an adventure getting to the resort down a bumpy track but it's well worth the journey. Cut out of the middle of the jungle, you can see and here some amazing wildlife. Free kayak rental is also a bonus, the... More

This remote resort is a hidden gym. So peaceful and relaxing! The resort is made up of 7 cute casitas facing the lagoon separated by lush lawns and bougainvillea lined pathways. Our casita had 2 bedrooms and slept 5. Not all the casitas have air conditioning so I highly recommend asking for one when you make your reservation. Also, the... More

We stumbled on this place on our trip from Belize to Tulum and were so lucky we did. It was the most relaxing stay of our entire vacation. You can't imagine the surprise you get when you emerge from a dirt road through heavy bush to see the beautiful grounds of the resort. We got there a bit late, but... More

We visited here as part of a tour by the Native Choice. A great lunch and drinks were provided. The weather was overcast so we did not get to enjoy the beautiful colors of the lagoon. The place is immaculate and so isolated but wonderful if looking for peace and quiet. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking. The grandchildren loved the... More

In a one-month circuit of the Yucatan loop in March 2015, our three-day stay at Bacalar Lagoon Resort was an absolute standout. Located at the end of a four kilometer track starting at kilometer 59 of the Chetumal-Cancun Highway 307, it is a set of high-quality individual cabañas, well spaced from each other by carefully laid out beautiful plantings. Each... More

I wouldnt normally take the time to review a place..just simply through lack of time, however we felt this place deserved a special mention! We stayed for 3 nights and it was the most relaxed 3 nights we have spent in such a long time! The cabañas are lovely, clean and comfortable...the resort is so peaceful with nothing other than... I cannot say how surprised i was after a wild ride into the resort, to find this beautifully manacured, friendly and quite place in which to rest and refresh "in the jungle". Others have already pointed out the amenities, but the quality of service and attention by owner Roberto was exceptional. Jordan was always quietly available for any questions when... More

We drove from Playa del Carmen to the resort. We were concerned with finding the place but find it easily by following the directions given on the site. The only thing is the trail off the main road which is a dirt road and bumpy. Don't drive there at night as you are literally in the jungle. The place is... More
