Last March we had the opportunity to have family & several friends meet at Dos Talas. The owners, Sara, Luis and family, could not have been more charming & accommodating. The old world charm of Argentina is everywhere. The family history, the house's subdued elegance, horse rides across the pampas, and visits to the private chapel made our visit unforgettable.... Previous poster clearly has a bad attitude to local feelings, or is plain ignorant. Ok, so Luis didn't agree with your beliefs, wtf?. Do you speak Spanish? Are you aware of the regional situations? Stop carping. Dos Talas was a great place to stay, a real insight to life on an estancia. Stayed there eight years ago and loved everything.... More

We had a horribly upsetting time at Dos Talas thanks to the owner shoving his repulsive political views down our throats over lunch on the day of our arrival. I understand that a minority of Argentines still long for the days of the military dictatorship and believe that the torture, murder and disappearance of up to 30,000 civilians in the... More

We stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon in Argentina. Dos Talas is about two hours from Buenos Aires off the main route south to Mar del Plata. We received a very very warm welcome from Sara and Luis from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the "house in the woods" a five minute walk from the main... More

We stayed in the secluded "house in the woods". Simple decor compared to the grandeur of the main house but clean and perfect for relaxing. Our days revolved around the superb meals of the most tender and tasty cuts of beef and lovely puddings, red and white wine flowing genourously. Time between meals is your own, either spend it horse... More

We spent a night at this estancia in February 2008, and really enjoyed the "gaucho" experience and the welcome that we received from Sara, the co-owner who speaks excellent English and is a very accomplished cook. The house was built in 1890 and has lovely period touches, including a library full of books from that era. There are three bedrooms... More

We stayed at Dos Talas with friends in February after a very hectic 2 weeks in Brazil & Argentina. The house has a faded elegance about it, and Sara & Luis were very welcoming. The gardens are beautiful and we went horseriding every day, although we were all beginners! The food is cooked by Sara and is very tasty, homely... More

We visited Dos Talas in early February 2007 and stayed for 5 night/6 days in their cottage in the woods. Our transfers were arranged from Buenos Aires by private taxi and we were greeted at the main house door by a very friendly Sara and wre shown to the cottage in the woods and then invited to return to the...
