Xamach Dos is not for everyone. One of those nearly end-of-the-road retreats so rare in today's fast-lane world. For guest who want to completely kick back and entertain themselves off the grid: paradise found. We loved the ocean breezes (too brisk to kayak or snorkel a couple days); fascinating beach combing; incredible moon rises and sun rises; romantic tree-house cabin;... more

Xamach Dos is nestled among the coconut palms on white powder sand in front of the turquoise Caribbean. It is ideal for independent travelers looking to avoid the big glitzy resort experience for a homey, inclusive adventure. The staff are friendly and helpful, though all but the manager (Josh) speak only Spanish. Josh is a great host, friendly and easy-going,... more

Our family of 4 stayed 4 nights in the Casa Grande. It was cozy, clean, private, right on the beach and a wonderful place for our 10 and 11 year old kids. Dan and Josh were terrific hosts and Francesca's food was out of this world! If your idea of a great vacation is a beautiful private beach, with just... more

It has been over 2 weeks since returning from a week at Xamach Dos and I am still raving about it and can feel its magic. My partner and I spent 6 days and nights at this magical place that is right on the beach and removed from all the typical touristy type resorts. It took me about 2 minutes... more

We’re home reoriented after an absolutely wonderful week at Xamach Dos. To say that my husband and I decompressed completely is an understatement. Beautiful place, remote, off-grid (we fit right in there!). I never left the “resort,” choosing to nap, eat, read, snorkel, visit with the other guests (who were all remarkably simpatico with our personalities – how rare!), sample... more

This place is as awesome as everyone writes. We spent 6 days here early November in the tree house and everything was just wonderful. From the warm sea breeze that hits your face when you first arrive, to days of walking on the beach, the meals, and watching the pelicans fish. This place is so relaxing that we were almost... more

It is exactly what everyone has written. If you want utter relaxation away from everything and everybody this is the place for you! Its very beautiful and very quiet. I can't tell you how much my girlfriend and I enjoyed it. The drive may be a bit much, but it is well worth it in the end. The staff is... more

Oh where to start?! My boyfriend and I have been to Mexico a couple of times and had always stayed in an all-inclusive resort. This year however we opted to take the unbeaten path and we stumbled upon a little slice of paradise! You will take a long, bumpy ride down the Boca Pila road and when you think you've... more

Based on overall description from the owners we thought we're going to a paradise. Our first reaction when we got there was "can't stay here, we must leave now!". However within a day our attitude has changed to: "we love this place". The first negative impression negative reaction was due to the fact that the ground was littered with all... more

Xamach Dos is just about exactly what we wanted: plenty of peace and quiet in a setting with gorgeous Caribbean water, sky and breezes amid white coral sand and slender coconut palms. The food was excellent--the fish and shellfish come right from the sea. Francisca, the cook, and Margo, your host, have a great menu and the tastes are memorable.... more
