Just got back from 4 nights and Xamach Dos. There were pros and cons, and I tend to think most of the cons were the result of some bad luck for the owners during the stay. Pros: The setting is beautiful. If you are looking for a gorgeous, sleepy, isolated beach vacation, then this location is perfect. This was my... More

The biggest problem I had with this resort is not the fault of the owner. However, it is only fair to warn people that if you go expecting a lovely spot on a pristine beach you will be very disappointed. While Dan makes every effort to keep the beachfront on his property clean, the minute you step off his stretch... More

We loved this place! It is a family owned and run hideaway. We made quick friends and lots of laughs with the owners and small staff. Super chill atmosphere, great food and very, very relaxing. You can choose to hang out in the big welcoming open cabana and socialize through out the day (which is where beverages are available as... More

Ok, so we LOVED our stay - it truly was magical. We only stayed one night, and desperately wanted to come back! Pro´s and con´s: - the road (you need a 4x4 - Jeep sport wrangler preferably) - the food is good, but not great - the beach is great, but loads of seaweeds in the ocean - no phone... More

We had a blast at Xamach Dos! Yes, the road is bad but it weeds out the non-adventurous people! The property itself is very secluded and is a true eco resort that makes creative use of all the natural materials available on the beach and in the jungle. Check out the handmade driftwood bar and lighting features in the restaurant.... More

We stop at Xamach Dos to have lunch and our surprise was to find this hidden place. When we came out of the car Michelle gave us a warm welcome. From that point we just couldn't leave this beautiful place. Unfortunately because our itinerary we couldn't stay to sleep, which was pity! We had a delicious fresh ceviche, cold beer... More

Xamach Dos is the perfect getaway for those seeking a true relaxing retreat. The road from Tulum is an adventure but the wildlife along the way is really neat. It's a great idea to rent a car and make the drive. Upon our arrival we were welcomed by the staff and other guests. Everyone was warm and very welcoming. We... More

If you are looking for major decompression, in a truly unspoiled and unique location, with a warm and welcoming attitude...look no further. Dan, your off the grid host has a low key, customer first attitude, along with wonderful/creative food, outstanding cocktails, and attitude served up by Richard and Tammy. The accomodations are great. The road is a wild ride, but... More

This is one of the best places we have been. Perfect peace in beautiful nature. And yes, the road is long, hot and bumpy, but the journey really pays off!!! We took a cab that cost us 1000 pesos each way. Michelle was a great host, and the food was gorgeous!

The road is an adventure and not for the faint of heart, but if you are up for a fun, beautiful adventure, then make the trek to Xamach Dos. We have been back several times and although the road can be bad, just set your mind to what lays ahead. Quiet, plenty of alone time, kayaking, fishing, chess, and great... More
