An ideal stop for some traditional Norwegian hospitality between Bergen and Oslo on the E134. Fabulous dinner and breakfast in a traditional timber guesthouse with a long artistic tradition. Our room with ensuite was very comfortable and had amazing views down the valley. Make sure you arrive in time to sit on the terrace with a local home brewed beer... More

In the heart of Telemark, Norway, you will find Nutheim Gjestgiveri, a historie hotel run by the same family since 1917. It consists of several old traditional wood buildings. A gallery in the basement of the main charming building exhibits and sells art from local artists. Famous Norwegian painters often stayed here to be inspired by the beautiful nature. The hotel... We stayed for two nights. Amazing old accomodation, with a personal service from the innkeeper and her staff. We planned staying two nights, but ended up staying for three. The scenery is great, tall mountains and a deep flat valley. The food is local at a decent price.

When we looked for hotels in Seljord in Tripadvisor, we didn't see any reviews about this hotel (now of course I see them). So we decided to stay here anyway (26-27Aug 2013) without expecting anything. What a pleasant surprise. Very traditional, loved the paintings on the wall. We especially loved the lounge area (salong). The innkeeper was nice. If I... More

Wonderfully traditional accommodation either in a the main guesthouse, a 300 hundred year old priests house or outside loft. Be aware you have to share bathroom and in some cases shower facilities. Truly authentic Norwegian experience with an innkeeper who owns the establishment and runs it as her own house, you are more a house guest than a paying guest... More

A fantastic place. Nothing more nothing less. A chill and cosy atmosphere. Views to die for set in a dramatic scenery. Hotel is charmingly appointed with hand carved and hand painted details. Backed against dramatic mountains it overlooks the Flatdal valley. In addition, the hotel has an art gallery showing talented local artists. I understand the family has been running... More

Always nice to stop by. Either for a coffee or a full meal. This is also the perfect place to have parties or job meeting if you need to get away from urban noise and have some space. I recomend this place as the place to go if you can't go home, but want to feel like you are at... More
