We booked this accommodation to attend a family wedding which should have been the main highlight of our trip. However, as wonderful as the wedding was, staying at Selmunett was equally memorable. From the moment you arrive at Selmunett you are made to feel right at home! From the welcoming drink to the final day's breakfast, Roger and Maria Strickand... More

We stayed in many B&B all over Europe, even in north America and Selmunett is one of the BEST for sure. It is very well located in a quiet and nice area Naxxar which is near Valletta almost in the middle of Malta. We stayed 7 nights in July. We were very friendly welcome by Maria & Roger Strickland who... More

I was also on the cycling trip Neil W mentions - we had an excellent stay - Roger and Maria could not have been more helpful and the property is lovely. The breakfasts are first class, especially if you like a full English. Highly recommended.

We found our room (Tal Kurunel) very clean and spacious, especially the bathroom, where there was plenty of surface area on which to spread out our toiletries. While an obese person might find the shower stall a little tight, there was plenty of water pressure, hot water, and citrus-flavored shampoo and body wash. Our room also contained a small refrigerator,... More

Every year for the past 16 years I have organised a bike ride for my three mates (Paul, Mike and Martin) and me. This year we chose Malta, partly because none of us had been there. I usually spend hours and hours trawling through websites around January/February time trying to make head or tail about where to stay that's also... More

We stayed four days over the May 1st weekend. The place is lovely, well kept, quiet, and well appointed. But what really makes the difference is Maria's and Roger's hospitality: impeccable, friendly, and extremely thoughtful. Roger bent over backwards to be of help: just as an example, he lent us his navigator for the entire stay when he learned that... More

When researching for a place to stay in Malta, we decided to avoid the standard resort hotels and look for something a bit more authentic. We stumbled across lots of wonderful reviews for Selmunett, and I couldn't be more thankful that we did. Firstly, the things that Selmunett is not. It is not a standard resort hotel, it is not... My husband and I and my parents in law booked both Selmunett rooms for our second week in Malta. We had stayed in Birgu for week one and wanted a central Malta location for week two. I looked at every Trip Advisor listing for accommodation with two bedrooms. I had a few expectations after reading the high ratings from previous... More

Very friendly welcome by Roger and his faithful dog. We received excellent advice all round. Clean, upmarket accommodation run efficiently with a delicious breakfast. I had a pleasant walk around the beautiful gardens with Maria while Heinz enjoyed a chin-wag with Roger. A very definite recommendation to anyone visiting Malta.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
'Selmunett' is a charming family run luxury Homestay property located on the edge of the village of Naxxar, which is more or less in the centre of the island. We have two en-suite bedrooms and garden for the use of guests. The sea at St Paul's bay is a mere ten-minute car drive away. The capital Valetta is 15 minutes away; the airport and golf course 20 minutes away. We strongly recommend that you hire a car for your time in Malta. We would be happy to arrange this for you when you place your booking with us. If you do, we will offer you Complimentary one way airport transfers and the use of a GPS navigation system to help you get yourselves around the island. The new bus service in Malta is great with fully air-conditioned and modern buses with many routes round the Island. Our local bus stop is a mere three minutes from the house. Fitness enthusiasts, during the cooler weather, might like to consider bicycles, which again we can arrange. Rentals come complete with helmets, front and back lights and a locking system. Whilst we do not provide evening meals, we have a full list of recommended Restaurants that are in walking distance and of course others that are further a field and require transportation to get there. Apart from this we do have a Restaurant guide in each room so guests may wish to select their own, pubs and bars that we recommend listed here on our site. WiFi is available throughout and in the event that guests require the use of computers in order to re-confirm flights and print boarding passes, this can be done with pleasure. Each of our rooms have iPhone/iPod docking systems. ... more   less
