This campsite offered exactly what we were looking for: -well-spaced pitches in beautiful surroundings -fires allowed on the pitches (you rent a stove from them - very reasonably priced) -kitchen & eating facilities for use in bad weather -no cars on site making for a safe and quiet site for kids We visited on a rainy weekend at the start... We - two adults and boys aged 8 and 6 - spent two nights here at the end of July. We had a large flat grassy pitch in the very pretty walled garden, no cars are allowed on site making it very safe for children, and trailers are available if needed to bring equipment from the car to the pitch.... We have stayed at Ruberslaw twice now. From the individual pitches and the ability to have a campfire to the excellent sheltered facilities, this has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The lawns and the glasshouse are also fabulous areas to let the kids play and make friends. We'll certainly be back.

We stayed for one night in one of the sites safari tents, our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children and it was a howling, pouring gale, but this didn't spoil our fun. The safari tent was incredibly comfortable and well equipped with just about everything you could need. It was draught free, cosy and dry, the safari tent... More

Spent two nights in a Safari tent. The facilities were suburb. Really lovely accommodation and our own private Thunderbox composting toilet! The isolation in the woods gives a real sense of striking out on your own while never actually wanting for anything as everything is provided including super comfy beds. The staff couldn't be more helpful and considerate. It really... More

This was our first camping trip as a family and this site has everything you need, the hub is a fantastic idea as is the kettle for a quick cuppa. We stayed in the walled garden and it was clean and had well cared for gardens, we had lots of room on pitch 2. I have never seen so many... More

I stayed here with my husband, 5 year old son and 2 dogs. We chose the wild camping option and absolutely loved it. We were about a 25 minute walk from the reception area and had all of our equipment dropped off for us at Gledswing Lookout. As part of the pitch there was a composting toilet and a sink... More

12 of us including 5 kids and 3 dogs camped in the woods - Minto pitches for 2 nights June 27th to 29th. I have nothing bad to say about this site, the staff are friendly and helpful, the site is clean and well cared for. We had 5 of the 6 pitches in the wood, the other was empty... More

We stayed in a safari tent for 3 nights at the end of June with a toddler and the site surpassed our expectations. The safari tent was well equipped and in an amazing location. No other tents or pitches were within site. We had our own composting toilet (which did not smell at all) and sink facilities. Fresh water for... More

Just back from our second holiday at Ruberslaw Wild Woods. We stayed in one of the safari tents for a week last Aug and a 5 day break this time around and we will definitely be back again. We love this place as it is perfect to re-charge the batteries. It's so peaceful up on the hill with the amazing... More
