Half board can sometimes feel restrictive, but it was wonderful here at Pensione Tranchina, under the watchful, caring eye of Marisin. Dinner was a highlight, where we were asked to assemble just before 8 o'clock for aperitifs and the chance to swap local discoveries with fellow guests. The food for breakfast and dinner was unpretentious, fresh and very very local, including... More

My wife and I stayed two nights at this charming pensione during our driving holiday in Sicily. Situated in the tiny perch village of Scopello the owner Marisin Tranchina was the ultimate host. The home cooked dinners were superb; fresh caught fish and typical Sicilian pasta dishes. The wonderful breakfast; local fruit in season, home made sicilian cakes, local honey... More

We stayed 3 nights so that we could use Scopello as a base to explore North West Sicily. We could not have found a more beautiful place to stay. Our room was on the top floor with magnificent views to the sea and rooftops of the town below. It was spacious and cleaned to an exceptionally high standard each day.... More

Pensione Tranchina is really a fantastic place. Perfect located in the town center of Scopello. We stayed 3 nights in room 5, that has a nice balcony and seaview. Everything is nice and clean, and the owner Marisin Tranchina is so kind, friendly and helpful. And now to the daily dinner which is served at 8 PM in the hall:... More

We spent 4 nights at Pensione Tranchina and would always come back! The place is wonderful, clean, warm and welcoming. The food is absolutely amazing (breakfast & dinner). Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. One point of critique: we had the room directly above the kitchen so we could hear the staff preparing/cleaning early morning and late evening. Nevertheless: we... More

Rooms we're clean and spacious. Food was home made and locally sourced. The local honey was amazing as was the home made marmalade. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. All in all a great relaxing break and a lovely place to stay. We'd also recommend Lo Zingaro the local nature reserve very beautiful and peaceful and lovely beaches.

Huge room with 2 sofas, full length mirror, big bathroom with modern fittings, wardrobe with more wooden hangars than I've ever seen before in a hotel; fresh and locally grown produce served at dinner and breakfast - couldn't want for more. All this in the delightful setting of Scopello. We had only 2 nights here, and would have liked more... More

We loved our stay here. Marisin and her son were both charming and were so friendly and really went out of their way to help. The food was amazing with some of the best food we have had in Sicily both at dinners and breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable. We mentioned to Marisin that our beach towels... More

We loved Pensione Trachina. It was well-appointed and sophisticated, and felt like a place you'd find in Napa Valley. Marasin was a very warm and personable host; we enjoyed chatting about her interesting life as much as about Scopello. The real standout were the meals. Only B&B guests dine at Trachina but the cuisine was as fresh and delicious as... More

Pensione Trachina was a lovely place to stay, great situation close to the Zingaro reserve and the Tonnerie and in the tiny village of Scopello. What stood out though was the exceptional warmth and kindness of Marisin. She made it feel as if she was welcoming us to her home as special guests and nothing would be too much trouble.... More
