We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Banana Lodge and wished that we could have stayed longer. We found Misahuali to be a pleasant base to explore the area and there is so much to do. The rooms were spacious, clean and the property right on the river is nicely landscaped with hammocks and chairs for relaxing.... More

Banana lodge was the perfect place to spend three nights in the amazonia region . Beautiful settings on the river Misahualli , rooms clean and comfortable and new , spectacular views from the rooms . Price per night was exceptional for quality and service Anna and Edwardo were the perfect host and hostess . Anna arranged flawlessly all our trips... More

Misahualli is at the western edge of Ecuador's Amazonian lowlands, situated where Rio Napo converges with Rio Misahualli. For my small group it was a starting point for our journey to a lodge farther downstream along the Napo, and Banana Lodge proved quite satisfactory for that purpose. It certainly is a nice fit in terms of price, and our two... More

Overall I think the banana lodge is a good place to stay in Misahualli. The rooms were relatively clean and comfortable based on the price paid per night. While the owners were nice, they weren't overly nice as we had read in some of the reviews. The property is nice as well. Also it's about a seven minute walk to... More

Clean, helpful, friendly. This is now our second stay and we plan on returning. This is our go to place. English, Russian, and Spanish are spoken. Situated right at the rivers edge. Easy walk to town.

It's my second visit there and the place just keeps getting better.. The first day it was full so couldn't stay there and had to check in another place and none of them come close to it.. Thankfully they had rooms later so we could stay there. It's a great place to relax and the owners are really nice people.... More

My girlfriend and I are foreigners living and teaching in nearby Tena, and are very familiar with the accommodation in the area. Banana Lodge is easily the most pleasant experience either of us have had. The location in a beautiful garden with a private beach on the river was terrific, the rooms are brand-new and sparkling clean, the service was... More

Everything was ok, until at night we kindly asked for an extra pillow for my daughter; so the owner (foreign female) told us we need to pay for an extra bed then. It was really disapointed since she could apologize and provide more detail why she could not provide an extra pillow; lack of customer service. Also, breakfast was so expensive,... More

Dear Byron, We apologize if you felt upset with our service. Therefore it is very difficult to restore what happened 1 year ago and we are not able to identify your family. The guests usually take all the pillows which are in the rooms and we do not mind. Using an extra bed cost additionally. I imagine that you were... More

After two weeks on the road, our last stop was Misahualli. A friend had already recommended us Banana Lodge and we had high expectations, and they were surpassed. The vibe of the place is one of the most relaxing I've ever found. The quality of the rooms (furniture, bed, tables, bathroom) is exemplary. The place has a lush private river... More

We were originally looking at all the fancy lodges in this area, but they are roughly $150-300 pp in price. This place is a gem in the middle of Ecuador's rainforest region, and only about 1/15 of the price. The rooms are basic, clean, and comfy with a fan to keep you cool. Your room is surrounded by colorful fruit... More
