If you are looking for a wine tour in the Southern Rhone valley, look no further as this is the trip for you. The beauty of this trip is the in-depth experience at each winery. The tours that we participated in did not involve meeting with a hospitality manager in a tasting room, but rather walking through the vineyards, learning... More

Philip, the host, provides a spectacular 3-day wine-tasting experience. It was a dream come true for me and could not have been any better. I felt as though he tried to give us the most possible in three days. Each of the two full days involves tastings at 4 vineyards. The vineyards are all of the highest quality but varied... More

What a stimulating experience staying in this fully renovated 13th century dwelling. Charming, rustic, and full of natural ambience La Madelene was a great choice for our 2 night stay. Philip's knowledge of the area and suggestions for restaurants, wineries and driving routes enabled us to enjoy many of the highlights of this part of the Cotes du Rhone. He... More

Few of us will ever have the privilege of staying in a 12th Century priory. It not only sounds romantic, it IS romantic. Family owned by the Reddaways, Le Madelene can offer a unique experience for many different types of travelers, but especially those with unique and high expectations. The Reddaways have fashioned a property that caters to serious Yoga... More

Stayed with Philip and Jude for 3 nights in early September. Jude is a fabulous cook and Philip's wine tour was excellent. Great people and a great time. I highly recommend this trip for wine lovers. Philip's knowledge was outstanding

After a wonderful experience last year my wife and I returned to 'La Madelene' in September with a group of 10 guests, who joined us for a Yoga Retreat and "Taste of Provence". Our hosts, Jude and Philip, again, had no problems to fulfill our high expectations and created a warm, welcoming and soothing atmosphere. Jude never got tired to... More

Our stay was outstanding. Phillip and Jude made us feel like visiting family. We relaxed into the renovated Abbey with three solid meals a day and outstanding local wines. At our request, the food was heavily vegetarian using local and seasonally fresh ingredients. Everything was delicious. The after dinner cheese platters were to die for as were the fresh croissants... More

This summer, my husband and I stayed at La Madelene for 2 nights on a B&B basis and then for 3 nights as part of Philip's Rhone Wine Tour. Both experiences were outstanding and I would highly recommend your staying here. Philip and Jude are passionate about what they do and they do it superbly. They really care that you... More

We are 4 couples sitting at Marseilles airport reflecting on the last 3 days. There is 100% agreement in the group; this was the perfect long weekend. We are all well-travelled, but Jude and Philip took us by storm. A late arrival on Wednesday did not stop Judy from serving a 5 star dinner with Philip's excellent wine choices. From... More

I am sitting here in our next location - an apartment in Bordeaux - reflecting back on our four fabulous nights at La Madelene. This was my first wine tour, and I certainly started at the top. Philip knows everything about wine and was happy to share his knowledge with the rest of us. Jude is a fantastic cook and... More
