Four of us stayed 6 nights, from April 5-11, 2014. It is a Renaissance Palazzo updated for modern comfort, yet maintains its old charms. Maria is the owner and Mary assists her with breakfast and tending to the guests. The breakfasts advertised on the website are delicious, with fresh fruit, meats, cheese, and pastries baked by Maria daily. Also Mary... More

My wife and I stayed two nights with Maria at Palazzo Malaspina last month and absolutely hated to leave. We were there during the low season, so San Donato was very quiet (just how we like it) but I can imagine it would be a hopping little place in the summer. The location is perfect - 30 minutes to Siena... More

I stayed here for four nights with my partner. We had a fantastic time and I couldn't recommend this place any more highly. San Donato in Poggio is a great little town with shops and restaurants very close by, however, it is also a nice and quiet getaway. Going for day trips to Florence, Siena, the surrounding wineries (etc), and... More

We enjoyed two magnificent nights here and loved every second of the stay. Maria made us feel very welcome. The homemade cakes that were left in the dining room for tea and coffee gave it the special touch. Mary was so helpful with our luggage and helping find my daughter Adriana's (Cinderella) lost shoe. It was a luxurious stay and... More

What a wonderful bed and breakfast! Maria and her family are excellent hosts....so nice and accommodating. Comfortable, darling rooms with plenty of space. Maria provided an excellent breakfast in the morning, with fantastic cappuccinos and a variety of foods. The B&B is also located next to an outstanding restaurant, La Toppa. We were also close to many other cities in... More

We went on a family vacation that included a stay in Tuscay this past October. Having had a great stay in Castellina a few years ago we decided to pick a different town in the same area and picked Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato. The combination of the excellent accomodations, great breakfast and the warmth of Ms Pelizzari and her... More

Lovely hotel with big comfortable rooms all with their own style. Picturesque setting, small and very quaint village. Maria, the owner, is very friendly and helpful and a wonderful host. I would definitely visit it again to explore more of this beautiful region. No hesitation in recommending Maria's B & B!

This was our third stay at Palazzo Malaspina. Maria is, as always, a gracious hostess. The standard at Palazzo Malaspina is consistently excellent, with a delicious breakfast, comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms; and a perfect location for our annual business trip to Tuscany. I would recommend it without hesitation!

We stayed at Palazzo Malaspina for five nights on our recent trip to Italy. I will not repeat all the favorable comments that have have been made before about Maria's B&B other than to give it a 10 out of 10 rating in every respect. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience in San Donato and the Tuscan region and our stay... More

clean and comfortable rooms, helpful staff. The owner of the house, Maria is very nice and attentive.Location is good, very close to the main road to Siena. If they organise the entrance hall as living room , the atmosphere will be nicer,it will be good to spend some time before going to bed.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience at Palazzo Malaspina. We are very centrally located: between Siena and Florence, easy to reach, in the countryside of Chianti where stands the little medieval gem of San Donato in Poggio. Thanks a lot for giving me the tip, I really appreciate when my guests suggest me something to improve Palazzo Malaspina.... More
