If you choose to travel the back roads of Rome - and I highly recommend it - you need to include this place on your journey. Upon waking, we were greeted with a magnificent spread for breakfast prepared by our hostess, Maria.... More

This is a beautiful village. Maria and Mary would make our start to the day with a wonderful breakfast and information about the surrounding villages and siteseeing options. They both spoke English very well and Maria even booked us in to the sites in Florence. The town is conveniently located to drive to Florence, Siena and other fascinating towns. My... More

We stayed here for 5 nights a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. San Donato is a lovely old walled town within easy reach of Florence and Siena and the beautiful scenic countryside. The sat nav does get confused within the village and doesn't recognise the one way systems. As it is small we found it best to park the... More

Unexpected gem. Comfortable, at home feel. Nice size rooms and bath. Balcony overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Maria is full of life and so willing to share her ideas about the area. The town is out of a novel. Quaint, tremendous history and great restaurants.
