Brought the bikes and made the long drive from Cherbourg to Sequoia, south of La Rochelle but whilst the campsite itself was very good, we were very disappointed by its overall location - 2 mega-busy roads either side of the campsite make driving hazardous and cycling nigh-impossible (esp. with kids). Nearby town of Marennes is gateway to large Isle d'Oleron... More

Firstly the comments of others - I personally don't go on a camping holiday to get free WIFI - yes it would be a bonus but no it is not essential to get to know the local area!! A local map will do that - we haven't always had mobile phones so stop moaning. Mossys - seriously folks its not... More

We stayed for one week at Sequoia Parc, having travelled north from another Castel site (Moulin du Roch - excellent). We were really looking forward to it as we were meeting up with friends and the aqua parc promised lots of fun for our two boys. Sadly the site did not live up to our expectations and left us really... More

first of all, I would start by saying that this campsite is better than average, but its not in the very good category, i am currently staying here and have been here for 7 nights, first the good.. lots of activities for the kids, good playpark, massive aquaparc, and very child orientated. we are staying in a key west chalet... Have just returned from 8 days camping - two families of four with kids between six and nine. Unfortunately we had very average weather with cloud and rain virtually every day which was a shame as we were expecting it to be warmer. Very good job we had packed waterproofs! The site itself is large and very well maintained. Our... More

We stayed for 2 weeks in a fixed caravan at this park. The pool was fantastic and we only saw the kids when they were hungry. relaxed kids, happy wife, happy life ! It rained 30% of the time and the mosquitos took lumps out of us if we forgot to apply the repellent. Nothing the park could have done... More

We have just returned from two very good weeks at Sequoia park. We stayed in one of their own O'Phea chalet(standard 4 berth) booked through Suncamp(who aren't there by the way - your are dealing with the campsite direct). Chalet not well stocked with equipment you need to bring toaster, kettle and decent cutlery. However were really pleased with the... More

A big park with fantastic pools for kids. We stayed in a Safari deluxe which was superb. Generous pitches. Good restaurant, bar and shop. Easy to avoid or join the 'entertainment' as you choose. Tedious sunbed etiquette, so if you want to get on that bus you will have to queue before pool opens and sharpen your elbows. Mosquitos -... More

This was our second trip to a Castel site, this was far more deserving of 5 stars than our previous stay in Bidart. All in all a top site. We liked loads, including the pitch size (see picture). We were on a premium pitch (F136) and we (2 families of 4) could easily have survived on 1 pitch. It was... More

Just back from two glorious weeks of sunshine at Sequoia Parc. Sequoia Parc is certainly one of the most attractive and well laid out campsites we have ever stayed on - with the stunning chateau as its centrepiece. There is a beautiful outdoor courtyard area which houses the bar, restaurant, outdoor entertainment/stage area, as well as the campsite shops and... More
