We had a brief stay at the Flying Dutchman while visiting Peggy's Cove. The rooms were very clean and the woodwork in the inside is beautiful. There is a dock on the water for guests to use which has a great view. The house isn't very kid friendly and is obviously catered for adults. However, one of the two hosts... More

We spent a night here - after stopping at Peggy's Cove. Doreen and Henk are wonderful hosts. We walked down the road to "The Finer Diner" for supper and back. The scenery is beautiful, very nice room and bath. Very nice breakfast....We had never had Dutch Toasty before. It was really good. Thank you for a great stay!

Very nice location- clean rooms- comfortable little " social area" and delicious food! Add to that the nice folks running the place who actually stayed up with us while we waited for our new rental car to be delivered ( first broke down!!) and what can we say??? Would definitely stay there again!

We stayed 4 nights here - close to Halifax, Peggys Cove and right on the water. Great info as Henk used to work at a visitors info place - Great breakfast and felt very welcome! Lots of good info. We were always asked how are day away went and they both were very interested in what we had seen -... More

This B&B is conveniently located 40min from Halifax and just 10min from Peggy's Cove. It offers exceptional value in the expensive Halifax region with gracious hosts, spotlessly clean accommodation and a wonderful hot and cold breakfast buffet ... get there before this couple retires!

Henk and Doreen are perfect hosts. They gave us a warm welcome. The room was immaculate as was our private bath and the entire home. We stayed three days, and we wish we could have stayed longer. Doreen spent time with us each day detailing the ins and outs of the area. She made several suggestions on places to go;... More

We are so very fortunate to have been able to spend three nights with Doreen and Henk! It was like spending time with long lost family members :-) we were welcomed with a friendly and warm greeting, followed by blissfully comfortable accommodations and well we could not begin to accurately describe the food, simply delicious and different, every morning. Hopefully... More

The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast delicious. It was also nice visiting with Doreen and Henk, the innkeepers. We arrived late, and very hungry, and Doreen was nice enough to phone an area restaurant and tell them we were coming There is also a very nice outdoor area complete with a swing facing the bay.

Doreen and Henk did a great job of making my wife and I feel at home. We arrived late and they greated us with open arms. The property has a great location just off the water and is very pretty. The house and rooms were spotless and well equipped. Doreen cooked as fantastic breakfast fit for a king. The bed... More

we stayed for a few nights in the suite on the top floor and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Spacious bedroom, bath and living room, and spotlessly clean. The only thing interrupting your sleep could be the traffic noise from a fairly busy street right next to the property. Breakfast was plentiful and Doreen and Henk make you feel welcomed.... More
