Two wonderful nights spent for our wedding anniversary in the 'white room' overlooking the square of the lovely litlle village of Ripley. The room was excellent very clean and tidy with all the little extras you should expect, including a chocolate boar placed on your pillow everynight !. We both found the breakfasts very good with plenty of selection and the evening... more

From the outside, this hotel looks like a classic English country hotel, and we entered full of anticipation. Having checked in, we were than escorted across a busy road to our room which was situated in an annexe opposite the hotel. Had we known this in advance we probably would have stayed elsewhere. Not being in the main body of... more

Location was great. The restaurant for dinner was wonderful. The only drawback, and I think a big one, was the room we had was ground floor next to a main road and parking lot that had a lot of traffic, even sometimes at 2 AM. The fact that it was warm, and no AC, made it worse. You had a... more

We chose the Boar's Head because it was next door to a castle and our two boys, ages 4 and 6 are quite enamored with castles, etc. The Boar's Head was our first stop on a ten day trip to England and was WONDERFUL. The on-line registration process was great-the staff was prompt and courteous, attentive and willing to work... more

We stayed for two nights for my partner's birthday on a "Yorkshire Break" (see the hotel website). We only live down the road in Harrogate, and have stayed here two or three times before on anniversaries and birthdays as a treat. We booked a superior room which was in a building across the road from the main hotel. The room... more

This is indeed a nice setting and although pretty, you won't find much to do in Ripley. Everything about my stay was good except the shower. There are several different types of room as some are in the main building, some off the beer garden and some are across the road. I stayed in the main building facing the road.... more

I was recommended this hotel on a recent business trip to Harrogate and couldn't find any decent accommodation there. It's only 5 mins outside Harrogate in, what looks like a movie-set village, Ripley - and is your postcard-perfect village inn. My room was in the Keepers Lodge and was a good size, far bigger than my usual hotel rooms, the... more

Stayed June 3/4 2006 with family - food at dinner in the restaurant was simply wonderful and the wines were reasonable too, although the coffee was poor - espresso has no crema and the regular coffee was very thin. Breakfast was adequate but not great. But our room in the annex was very ordinary - toilet was difficult to flush,... more

We had booked ourselves in to the Boar's Head at the end of our UK holiday expecting it to be something special, a bit of a splurge to end off our holiday in pampered comfort. Although it was perfectly adequate, we couldn't understand what others found outstanding in this hotel, and we couldn't understand why it was more expensive than... more

A very relaxing stay with a lovely ambiance. The setting and surrounding village are fabulous. The breakfast was v.good and it was a pleasure to be served by well trained and willing staff! The restaurant was also top class and the food delicious. An all round gem of a hotel and we're glad we found it. I would and have... more
