My sort of hotel: a bit off the beaten track and little bit "olde worlde" though the rooms were modern, tasteful and spacious. My only reservation was the menu was limited and a bit pricey, but overall enjoyable experience.

After visiting the church and deer park, I was ready for lunch, just a bowl of soup on a cold wet day. I walked through the door and was greeted with a cheery smile from a staff member on reception, she gave me directions as I asked about lunch. I walked through to what looked like a pub, so walked... Popped in for lunch and the staff were great! We had lovely hot mushroom soup (although the bread buns were a little hard) it was warm and welcoming and table service. Will be going back for an evening meal.

The bar has excellent food. I have eaten here 5 times, usually as a stopover when travelling to the North or Scotland, from Norwich and stayed here twice. The sandwiches are excellent. Last month I stayed overnight and had venison as an evening meal. The room was in a building across the road and beautifully presented; it cost me under... More

Stayed at this hotel on business and had a very comfortable nights stay, the only thing I would say it is a little chintzy looking in the bedrooms, but overall the rooms was very clean and comfortable, which is what counts.

Why Thank you barneyboyNE for visiting us. Chintzy is good right?? Lady Ingilby has chosen the décor in all the rooms and we generally get good feedback. I hope you will come again and see some of our other rooms........... More

I have had lunch at the Boar's Head a few times in the past but this is the first time I have stayed here. The staff really couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I stayed in the house across the road but I didn't have a problem with that at all as it is so close to the Boar's... More

I stayed here for a night with my family after attending a wedding. As we had two young children with us, we were given a family room which was spacious enough for an extra fold-out bed. No real complaints but I couldn't say the rooms or service were any better than OK. The room was quite tired looking, and the... More

I stayed for 2 nights whilst on business. The rooms were beautiful, I really liked the idea of staying in a cottage in the garden. I found this afforded me more privacy. Very quiet. Exceptionally clean and although I was a lady staying on my own I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe.
