We stayed for 8 nights at Gamboa Rainforest Resort using RCI exchange points. We were quite pleased with the location and the room. We had a view of the Chagres River. There are many activities in the area. The hotel provides numerous tours, some are paid and some are free. It caters primarily to the tourist who wants to see... more

Gamboa rainforest hotel is an excellent hotel! The views from your balcony are amazing! Its very clean, and the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend the Monkey Tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was well worth it. I would definitely come back here again! more

We just came back from a week in Panama, and had a great time. We stayed in the Gamboa Rainforest Resort for the week and there were definitely pluses and minuses: Pluses- The resort is beautiful, clean, right on the Chagres River, and the staff are friendly. We loved hanging out in the hammock on our balcony (most rooms have... more

We were throughly blown away by the beauty of the view from the room when we arrived. It is in the most stunning setting. This resort certainly isn't one to go to if you are looking for nightlife. We were going to bed at 9pm/10pm most nights. It was though as full of wildlife as you can get, quiet and... more

We spent two nights here as part of an OAT tour of Panama. The stay followed 2 nights in a fairly primitive eco-lodge, so arriving at the Gamboa was a like a slice of paradise. Our room was in the tower section, 6th floor, with a breathtaking view of the river and hotel grounds. The room was spacious and well... more

Unfortanatly I cant give the same rosy reviews other travelers have. The resort is beautiful, has a nice pool and so on. But the hospitatlity was awful. We felt like third class guests the whole time we were there. When you entered our room it was beautiful at first. But the bathroom sink was rusted, light sockets were bare, the... more

The Gamboa Rainforest Hotel is simply appointed and the staff do their best to be helpful, but the real draw is the wildlife. It was hard to leave the room without stumbling upon another great creature. Situated along crocodile river, and boarded on all sides by thick and bountiful rainforests, the hotel is the perfect location for nature lovers eager... more

Objectively the Gamboa Rain Forest Resort gets at least 4 stars - good food (but expensive - tip: book half board or Medio Pension as an option - because there is nowhere else to eat.), very large comfortable rooms, service on the whole is pretty good. Nice bar. Enthusiastic staff. Lovingly sculpted pool and grounds. All in very sympathetic -... more
