Just an amazing experience. Enjoyed the train carriage accommodation and the lava tube tour. Very interesting. Will have to return to do some of the many walks available in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Went to bush brekky which was fun.

We arrived at the Lodge and once checked in, went on an Archway tour of the Lava Tubes. We had been told that even with a disability, I could manage the mainstream tour, rather than the separate one offered for this with limited mobility. The walkways were very well constructed, however the number of stairs (250) proved a challenge for me,... I travelled here with my husband, two kids (2 & 6 months) and parents. Despite 5 emails concerning room bookings, we were booked into an ensuite carriage room (with no room for the kids) instead of the hut recommended by reservations. We were able to get a family carriage room. The whole situation confused me, as we were booked in... More

They have a range of accommodation available. Options include railway carriages, raised tents and cabins. The railway carriages were unique and provided a different perspective to what you would get staying in a traditional motel/hotel set-up. The tents were raised off the ground and featured solid floors. Meanwhile, the cabins were well-appointed with toilet and shower facilities as well as... More

We spent 2 nights here in a cabin, there are also train carriages, tents etc for accommodation but the cabins were very comfortable and central. The area is quite dry and not lush forest like some might expect, but the tours (we did 2) are very educational and interesting. There are many walks around the Lodge that are easy and... More

Well the lava tubes were great but that's where it ends. Really this park should be free to explore self guided. The tour guide was good but not really necessary. The paths are well marked out and you could not get lost. $168 for a family 2 hr trip is rude to say the least. The park for a powered... More

This review is purely based on the accommodation, which was in a railway carriage. We stayed for 2 nights on a package deal which included all food and two trips. The room was very basic, I would say no better than 'glamping' but we did have a bathroom. It was small and quite warm despite it being July. I can... More

I had a two night stay in the railway carriages and they were clean and comfortable. The dining area is beautiful and the food exquisite - the pork chops to die for. But... at $57 for each tour (there are three tours) and $90 per night for a single cabin, this is way too pricey. The tour was professional but... More

It's hard to rate this fairly because different things deserve different scores. The accommodation in the railway carriage was cute but decidedly two star with basic shared amenities and simple beds. The dinner and lunches were fine (they even gave us a packed lunch for our drive away) and the tours were good, even though I would have loved to... More

The Undara Experience is back to nature experience which I highly recommend. it is a comfortable 4 hour trip out of Carins. We stayed 2 nights at Undara and could have stayed a couple more days. We stayed in the Pioneer Huts which were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We went on 2 tours (Active Explorer and the Wildlife at... More
