We spoke no portugese and they spoke no english but yet, we managed for 3 nights with the help of other guests, guides and lots of sign language. Pantanal is not cheap. There are limited pousadas and this is one of the cheapest of them all as it isn't fancy. no swimming pool, no razz and jazz. Its simple and... More

Pousada Rio Clarinho is a very special place, which suits not to everyone. The accommodation is very simple, but the bathroom worked well. We had two different rooms during the stay and in both we had frogs and plenty of insects inside. When the room is free owners keep the door open, so, frogs and insects enjoy their stay! For... We stayed in Pousada Rio Clarinho for one night as part of a 3-day Pantanal tour with Ecoverde in late Dec 2013. Pousada Rio Clarinho is a lovely pousada by river, rooms are nice and clean with AC. you can observe a wide variety of wild animals here. Btw, there are a lot of mosquitos in this season which is... The Pantanal is the lesser-known wildlife hub of Brazil and till today lives in the shadow of the much more popular Amazon. Watching nail biting scenes of the "Amazon" in the movies, we often do not know that these are mostly set in the Pantanal more popular for filming due to the variety of animals easily seen in the low... What an oasis of peace, beauty, cleanliness, comfort and delicious food. Having read many reviews about the state of the lodges being used, on the Mato Grosso excursions, this has to be the best. The photos will show the peacfulness and the hammocks. And also part of the breakfast (buffet, eat what you want). Lunches/dinners were main course and desert... More

This hotel is very, very basic. Tiny uncomfortable beds, mouldy, dirty bathrooms, and mosquito infested without nets. However, the wildlife around it is actually quite beautiful. It has forest on the property (which not many lodges around the area have) so you are able to see mammals here that are difficult to see elsewhere. We were also able to see... More

We were very unhappy with the standard of accommodation at Rio Clarinho. This was the most expensive place we have stayed at during our three-month trip through South America and it was also the worst. The surrounding scenery and river is lovely but the room was really dirty - especially the bathroom, which had not been properly cleaned for many... More

We booked through Pantanal Nature and stayed 3 nights at the farm/pousada/fazenda. Ailton at Pantanal Nature is a great guy - he met us at the airport and drove us to Hotel Ramos whre we stayed the first night. We arrived very late - so our tour with Pantanal Nature started the next day, when we were met by Ailton... More

This pousada is used if booking Pantanal tours through Pantanal Nature (fantastic tour company – request Ailton as your guide). The location is great – half way down Transpantaneira Road and you see lots of wildlife en route. The pousada itself is set on a farm – we saw anteaters and armadillos on the long drive way up to the... More

On the Transpantaneira this is a nice place to stay - right by the river with otters and capybara in the front garden. Boat trips, hikes and horseriding are available. The family are very friendly (no English spoken) and the food is good. The rooms are simple and clean and 3 bed rooms are avaliable. You will need to arrange... More
