Don't be put off by the self pitying tone of the person who wrote such a negative review. Take into consideration that it's the only bad one you're likely to find and some people are impossible to please! We stayed at The Old Bank for four nights and have nothing but positive things to report. Not only was the room... More

My family of four stayed here last month. We were happy to see that this house was a pretty in person as in the photos. The location is a bit out of the way but it was worth it to us. Miriam was very friendly and happy to assist us in any way possible. We had adjoining rooms that had... More

We were looking for a B&B close to the Lough Gur archaeological site and The Old Bank was the closest. Now we would come back just to stay here and visit with Miriam. Most B&B owners/operators work hard, but Miriam makes us feel at home. On top of that, The Old Bank is a work of love and is the... More

I'm very confused by all of the excellent ratings given to this B&B. It has the potential to be excellent, but the owner is frazzled and has too much going on in her own life to offer the type of hospitality necessary to run a successful B&B. I learned all about her troubles which I didn't travel thousands of miles... More

To be completely honest, I was a little unsure of how much I would liked the host. My Brother, and I, stumbled in after discovering we had a flat tire while checking out Lough Gur, and thanks to two strangers who gave us a ride the Old Bank, or as the locals called it, "Miriam's Place." We were supposed to... More

The old bank is wonderful place to stay, spacious rooms with en suite and breakfast was lovely. The owner is friendly and helpfull. Limerick city is only a short drive away and beautifull Lough Gur is only over the road. Well worth a visit if you are down that way.

Open log fires, period decor and sumptuous breakfast - and that's just for starters If you are looking for Irish hospitality at it's very best, look no further than Miriam and her family; just the warmest welcome and the most genuine care you could ever hope for as a traveller. In case you haven't already guessed it, I'm a fussy... More

In early July, we travelled to Limerick to trace our family roots and booked two nights at the Old Bank B&B , only 20 minutes drive from the tiny village we needed to explore. When we arrived, locals were busy decorating the street with bunting for the forthcoming 4th July celebrations. The flags combined with the colourful window boxes gave the... More

Lovely room, very spacious with an ensuite. Miriam is a lovely host and the place is a credit to her. Great breakfast and lots of friendly advice on what to do or where to go. The village is very welcoming and everyone knows each other and it has a very nice to feel to it. Be use to enjoy a... More

Planning to tour the west of Ireland? Then here's a tip - start your holiday with a 40-minute drive south of Shannon airport to the little town of Bruff, where the brightness of the colour-washed houses matches the warmth of the locals. And, in the centre of Main Street you'll find the Old Bank - distinctive by the lushness of... More
