We had a room with a superb view. The decoration of the room was a bit outdated, but this did not bother me. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was excellent. Employees were very polite and helpful. The beach of the hotel is very nice and quiet. more

We stayed in a standard room and this was located in a block off to the side of the main hotel. It was some way from the restaurant and was near the hotel sewage processing plant and at times the smell was just awful. The food was OK but nothing special, the whole place was in need of a refit... more

Spent 6 lovely days at the Istron Bay hotel where the staff were absolutely first class considering it was the end of a long season for them. The food was not exceptional quality but the choice was varied and plentiful. The beach was a delight, plenty of sunbeds and good for swimming. The pool was well situated and clean. We had a junior suite which... more

We stayed at the Istron Bay Hotel 10 years ago. It has an idyllc location, which is why we went again in September 2008. Nothing has changed, The hotel is living in a time warp. We had a superior room - superior to what? The hotel is in need of an imaginative refurbishment, to catch up with fast improving standards... more

We have just returned from a two week stay at this family run hotel. It is situated above a 600m sandy beach within it's own bay with turquoise water. All rooms seem to face the sea with great views to the distant mountains behind Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. We stayed in a Superior Rooms, which is middle of the range... more

A hotel set in a prime position with wonderful views from the rooms. Hotel is rather negleted and dowdy with no heart. Food was mediocre but not as good as expected after reading their preview of menu had hoped for a little more imagination. Stayed in a superior room which despite the outstanding view was shabby and staff reluctant to... more

Staying at Istron Bay was exactly like being trapped on a senior cruise ship. My boyfriend and I were beyond miserable and even shortened our Crete trip by one day because of this Hotel. It is beautiful but somewhat insane. Literally everyone there was 75 plus. There is nothing around the hotel for miles. Everything is done in groups and... more

My young son and I stayed here for four nights in a superior class room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. On the luxury scale, I'd give this hotel 3 stars. It could use a cosmetic makeover. It has it's own private beach, which was lovely. The food was good, and the salt water pool was one of the largest I've... more

We spent two nights at Istron in August. Our first impression was that the location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, with great views of the bay below and surrounding mountains. Definitely a place to relax. However, the interior was a bit of a disappointment; everything seemed kind of old, including the rooms, with its dark brown furniture and old-fashioned... more

We stayed at Istron Bay Hotel in middle August, and we enjoyed it. The average is a 4 star hotel. The hotel is located in its beautiful own bay, so you wouldn't experiment the crowd as in all other parts of the island. The beach is large and they provide you with facilities. Even on the most crowded day you... more
