We stopped here for lunch on our way to Wahiba Sands. We were the only people in the restaurant but we had a lovely simple meal from a very extensive menu. We chose a biryani, some chicken tikka (really lovely) and some hummus with Arabic bread. Everything seemed fresh, good portions and it was all very enjoyable. Service was good... More

The location is good on the way from Nizwa to Al Ain. That said I would drive a long way not to stay there again. The pool was closed for maintenance - but from the look of it, it had been closed for quite a while. Only 1 tissue in each tissue box, 1 towel in each room, only a... More

A large, aged hotel, where we spent a night on a rental car tour of Oman. Standards are certainly lower as elsewhere, but prices are as well. Rooms are ok, there is Wifi both in the rooms and in the lobby. Breakfast is just omelettes and bread. Bar and restaurant sell beer, and the permanent activity with cans being carried... More

We haven't even stayed the night yet but the place is truly awful. By the time you read this we will hopefully have found alternative accommodation. Addendum: we spent the night here. I know you will probably read this thinking optimistically 'it can't be that bad' but really, don't bother. Save yourself all the hassle 1. Room needed severely airing... More

My friend and I stayed there midweek in November. Other than a few Omani men drinking beer at the poolside bar, there were few guests. The food was not great. We both had a chicken dinners that were undercooked. The breakfast in particular was plain, tasteless, and unappetizing. While the pool was ok, the garden was unkept. The room facing... More

We live in Ibra and Al Sharqiya Sands Hotel is probably the best place to have a decent meal in Ibra. The prices are pretty reasonable and the restaurant is good. There are some instances when they don't have e.g. fish available although they have it on their menu. The lamb chops are good although again you have to specify... More

I was looking forward to using the pool, but it was empty and the 'garden' surrounding it was dirty, dusty and hadn't been looked after for years - a real wasteland. Obviously nobody looks after it, nor cares about it :(. Internet not working in the hotel. Restaurant staff pleasant and willing to help; reception staff bored and unhelpful, and... More

Three-pin sockets but two-pin appliances with only one adaptor; cold water tap yielded no water; only one towel provided for a double room; swimming pool across a sea of mud; no record of the booking; mutton biryani was all bone and no meat. I could go on. A really disappointing experience.
