A great experience right from the beginning when we asked for a room overlooking the sea. It was worth paying the extra 20 euros a night for a fabulous room with a balcony with two sun beds and a table and chairs. Our travel kettle was a life-saver as they don't provide one, we were able to borrow cups from... More

Most relaxed holiday I've had. Hotel right on the beach, which isn't full of drunk English chavs unlike Las Americas etc. Modern decor and perfect sized room, third floor terrace was quiet and a nice place to lie in the sun with a good book. Standard restaurant. Good cafe/bar downstairs with another terrace with steps going into the sea for... More

We went here because the first hotel we'd chosen was no good (in our opinion) and luckily they had a room for us. Two different ones in the three nights we spent there. Spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, good breakfast buffet. There's a terrace right above the sea with loungers and steps leading down into the sea for a swim. No... More

Having read some reviews of the hotel we were concerned whether we had made a good choice. We shouldn't have worried and frankly amazed at some comments. This is tremendously good value, the hotel is clean and comfortable with the sea on all sides as you sit on the deck which has comfortable Sun loungers and umbrellas. The staff can't... More

Being Spanish myself, and from another very touristic region, I remember growing up as a kid in the 80s surrounded by hotels that looked like... exactly like this one. Other parts of Spain have evolved, and have tried to modernize their tourist infrastucture to adapt it to modern European standards. Some places have succeeded, this hotel hasn't. El Medano still... I find the reception very helpful. Location is wonderful. I would suggest going with swimsuit, even if its your business trip. Only stayed for few hours but helped with keeping the luggage safely in lock room for a while. Restaurants closeby and what all. In a negative side, taxi cant let you reach right at the gate of the hotel... More

My two daughters and I stayed, yet again, in this hotel as our family has since 1984. We were allocated our favourite rooms, (we gave them lots of notice but, of course, there are no guarantees) and the welcome and friendliness of the staff were as warm as ever. Unfortunately, I was taken ill while I was there and received... More

A cosy mash-up of a hotel, warm and friendly, a bit bohemian, a bit rough around the edges, but all the better for having no fanciful airs and graces (bring your own shampoo!) If you're after a posh, slick, 4-5 star operation, give it a miss. If you want a bit of character and service with a smile in an... More

We had a wonderful 4 days at Hotel Medano. If you love the ocean, you will love this hotel, as it is right on top of it. You couldn't possibly get closer! Sleeping to the sound of the waves, waking for breakfast from which balcony you can go for a fresh wake-up dip, and watching the sunset from your wind-protected... More

The hotel could not be faulted, the position actually on the beach, the Art deco style of the building, clean, elegant and with superb sun terrace and even able to swim from the main sun terrace directly from the steps leading into the sea. Rooms vary a lot and we booked a sea view with balcony and this is advised... More
