secluded hotel with beautiful gardens with lots of different fruit trees and varieties of orchids. I can recommend a night walk to see caiman, frogs andnocturnal birds. the feeding tables allow for stress free bird watching at any time of day.

Since our start of Costa-Rica trip in hostel of Alajuela we were in first step in hotel Campo Cano Negro. The hotel was clean, service was good, the food was ok and staf perfect.
However, there was a really nice pool with a bird watching plate-forme and the location is perfect. Far away from all the really touristy stuff, only...

+ nice clean rooms + good restaurant + excellent (boat)tour guide - meals bit expensive - poor breakfast (italian style???): just toast mermelada butter and coffee
We came here to fish and explore beautiful costa rica. From the minute we arrived Marro was a great host. I felt like I was staying at a family members house. We fished two days and saw a couple huge tarpon, some alligator gar and tons of birds. Although I didn't catch any of these fish I did manage to...

Since we were in Green season we were the only two people staying in Hotel de Campo. That's probably the main reason for the average review. The hotel was clean, service was good, the food was ok but the price was rather high. So overall not great but ok.
However, there was a really nice pool and the location is...

Hotel de Campo is a gradually transforming jewel of a location, the creation of its owner who is in touch with nature and the environment. Being a birder, I really appreciated the most beautiful grounds one can imagine. With fruit trees of tremendous variety, Andrea the owner, is transforming the area into an avian magnet. Thoughout our stay, orange halves...

What a surprise after a long drive to this remote location. The hotel is clean and neat. The rooms were duplexes but very quiet. The dining room very nice with excellent food. The property is beautifully landscaped with fountains and statuary. The pool elegant and clean. We would return.
It took 3 public buses to get to Cano Negro but once we got there we were in heaven. The gardens are alive with birds, the rooms are immaculate and the restaurant meals were delicious. There was one other lodge in the area and it doesn't compare. The owner Andrea arranged a boat tour for us and the birds were...

The grounds are gorgeous, and situated right on the river. The trip getting there was back-breaking, traveling over an unpaved, rocky road. Spacious rooms, although dimly lit (par for the course in Costa Rica). Ants in the bathroom, but it was a fairly nice bathroom. We loved the large pool and there was also a Jacuzzi on the premises. The...
