We stayed at the Cano Negro lodge for two nights as part of an OAT Costa Rica tour. Cano Negro is accessible via a forty-five minute ride down gravel road from either direction, and that is in the dry season. So it's not an especially pleasant drive -- but it is definitely worth it. This is the only hotel at Caño Negro. It has three different class of room deppending the year of construction. We stayed at the newest and are very nice, clean, silent. First, as the title states, the road in to this hotel is very rough and the town is remote. The drive to the hwy east is 18km and took us about 40 min in our rented car, and to the west was 26km and took around 60 min. This is not the place for you if you're looking for a... more
