This hotel, was OK. You get what you pay for as it wasn't very expensive. The website is dated and pictures are misleading. We were on our honeymoon and had just come from a big all inclusive on the beach so this was a bit of a let down - we didn't have any AC in the room, which wasn't... More

The thermal pools are nice. Surroundings very beautiful. Basic rooms very dated. Two towels, one hand towel in triple room.Meager bedding. Limited internet. A new owner could do wonders. Dining the worst, especially breakfast with yellow lard- like oleo, no butter and this is dairy country. Buffet food barely warm. Same steamed veg and salads every night.

GREAT service... nice and comfortable rooms. Amazing pools, breathtaking river across the restaurant. The prices are reasonable for this beautiful hotel. The staff from the restaurant is the best. I am planning to go back with my family. Love it.

The location is amazing, it DOES need updating... but it was clean! The staff at the restaurant was very friendly but professional. The dinner was excellent, the breakfast buffet could improve! But for the price is a great location. The terrace at the restaurant overlooking the river is just breathtaking!

Giving this hotel a 1 rating is generous. This place is old and really needs updating and a good cleaning! I felt like I was staying at a water park since I had to wear their paper bracelet the entire time. Really bad! And the food was absolutely the worst I've ever had. I think I've eaten better at a... We stayed 4 nights at El Tucano. The hotel was quiet and in the heart of the jungle. The location was good, about 1 hour from Fortuna. The restaurant was average and the staff was averagely friendly, but the thing that made this hotel was the tour guide. The tour guide name is Frank. He doesn't work for the hotel... More

This is a small "resort" that is perfect for a one or two night get away. The main draw is of course the thermal pools, which are spacious though in my opinion not super comfortable for relaxing. One in the two "jacuzzis" are there actually seats. The grounds have beautiful foliage, but despite multiple trips on the "nature trails" we... More

I wanted to WOW my wife for our 20th anniversary. I have to say that when I opened the door to our room, my heart sank a bit. The room was very clean, but it was a double room-I guess they didn't get the part about the trip being for our anniversary-and a bit dated. I would give it 2... More

This is a charming hotel set in beautiful gardens. So many flowers, and hiking trails. We saw Sloths in the trees! and heard Howler Monkeys every morning. Mostly a Costa Rican resort. Rooms are good, with small patios. This hotel is not for the handicapped. Lots of stairs and slippery tiles on the floor. But the pools are lovely and... More

No air conditioning in the junior suite and not even a bottle of water is not something I've not expected in such a resort. The room was okay but a little bit old fashioned. The bathroom was not that good. Breakfast was very poor. We also had diner here that was okay but the service was poor.
