Enjoyed a two night stay at the Lodge over the August bank holiday. We were very warmly welcomed on arrival and Matt and Dave were brilliant in the restaurant. They immediately put you at ease and happily take the time to chat to you as well as offering great customer service. Big thanks to them for being such good sports... More

Good service with friendly staff. There's a limited time for food so be careful if you don't stay there but needs to drop by for a pint or meals. Must leave wet clothing and shoes at the door. Shoe bags are given. Dogs are welcomed in as customers.

Keld Lodge is an absolutely lovely village on the Swale. It has a common room with books and comfortable chairs, great for meeting people. You can take your Guinness in there and read or catch up on the email you've missed the last few days or talk to fellow travelers. Staff (especially Nat) was very friendly and accommodating. Dinner very... More

Stayed at Keld Lodge for the second time, doing Pennine Way Walk. Previously the Coast to Coast Walk in 2013. Still a great place to stay. Comfortable, clean rooms, a drying room which is a real bonus on those wet days.Staff are friendly and attentive. A special mention re Nick the owner. My wife and I were both quite unwell and... The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. The bar had a range of quality hand pulled ales. The room was very clean and comfortable with lovely views over the surrounding hills. The hotel was dog friendly. I would stay there again if I was in the area.

Very limited lunch menu. Only soup, sandwiches and toasted sandwiches. We suggest you do not order a toasted sandwich as it is not toasted. It is fried in a pan. The grease was awful. All,of the above are served with crisps and salad On the positive side the view was fantastic.

Enjoyed watching and listening to Ashes drubbing of the Aussies (sorry you guys) Also saw management going the extra mile for visitors who were poorly, and that told me as much about the place as the very good stay we had ourselves.

Let's get this on the table, this lodge talks FAR too much about cricket to poor Australians who are defenceless of accusations of ineptitude when it comes to cricket. We will get you back in the Rugby was my reply. Very pleasant stay, incredibly welcoming hosts and clean and comfortable surroundings. A tough gig I imagine of endless streams of... More

I enjoyed staying at the lodge. checking in was easy and although the room was small with a tiny shower room, the drying room was a big plus. The restuarant food is delicious and well served. this was fully booked which is a good indication. The location has stunning views and well woth a visit.

Booked in here to overnight after Day 7 of my Coast to Coast Walk. Check-in was easy, all staff were friendly/helpful, especially the owner/manager who was very amusing for all the right reasons! The food in the restaurant was superb [giant lasagne] in both taste and presentation and you could hand pick your packed lunch ingredients. The bedroom was perfectly... More
