I enjoyed staying at the lodge. checking in was easy and although the room was small with a tiny shower room, the drying room was a big plus. The restuarant food is delicious and well served. this was fully booked which is a good indication. The location has stunning views and well woth a visit.

Booked in here to overnight after Day 7 of my Coast to Coast Walk. Check-in was easy, all staff were friendly/helpful, especially the owner/manager who was very amusing for all the right reasons! The food in the restaurant was superb [giant lasagne] in both taste and presentation and you could hand pick your packed lunch ingredients. The bedroom was perfectly... More

My sister and I walked the Coast to Coast track, a 200+ mile walk that traverses the width of northern England. Our travel company booked the Keld Lodge for us to stay, and my sister and I agree that Keld had the best raspberry cheesecake we've ever had, along with the friendliest most hospitable staff. We were treated like royalty... More

A quaint country hotel with wifi. Lovely views of the surrounding pastures and sheep. Staff happily took our suitcases upstairs for us. Excellent service at all times and a keen sense of humour. A good size bedroom but I found it hard to sleep with rock hard pillows. My roommate said her pillows were comfortable. It was not in the... More

These guys took over what used to be a Youth Hostel and have a hugely successful hotel now. When we stumbled down off the fells (which were a boggy challenge even in July) we were asked politely to remove our boots and directed to their highly effective drying room. Bedrooms were comfortable with tremendous views over the Yorkshire Dales fells.... More

Perfect coast to coast stop. Location wonderful, staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Room fine, en-suite bathroom small but perfectly adequate, great drying room, evening meal and breakfast perfect for hungry walkers.

Having stayed in Keld Lodge on our previous C2C crossing, on arrival we were welcomed by Matt with the words” You stayed here two years ago, welcome back” Whether he actually remembered or whether his computer ‘reminded’ him matters not– his acknowledgement demonstrated he took an interest in his guests and that was enough. Keld Lodge was once a shooting... More

After a long walk it was great to have such a warm welcome and our luggage was already and waiting for us in our room. The room was very clean and the en suite was small but the hot water was plentiful. The drying room was brilliant, spacious enough for everybody wet gear and warm enough to dry your washing... More

We stayed for one night to meet up with friends. The accommodation was described as luxury but it was quite basic with inexpensive furniture and accessories. Beds were comfortable and shower decent but rather overpriced in my view. Unfortunately the worst part of our stay was the food. The fish pie consisted of minced up fish packed solid into a... More

We dropped in for dinner, not knowing what to expect, but a great experience. The food was good quality, they made up a small child-size portion for our 4 year old and were great with him. Recommended!
