We arrived after a difficult day's walking in the cloud, across the bogs and through the midges (when the sun finally emerged). We were given a warm welcome, drank tea in the comfortable parlour and were then shown where we could dry our boots and waterproofs. The room was comfortable and we slept well.

If you've had a wet day walking you will love this place - best and largest drying room ever. Our bedroom and ensuite was quite small (in fact probably smallest in 15 nights), but clean and comfortable. The restaurant was silver service and very good value for a fixed price 3 course. Staff were very helpful, friendly and chatty, particularly... More

Stayed here on Coast 2 Coast walk. Really good quality rooms - lots of space in bedroom. (Bathroom bit small is only complaint) Food great. Atmosphere - friendly and efficient - the staff clearly love their jobs. We decided to follow the C2C route over the top of the hills rather than the 'Royal Road to Reeth' so we will... More

Four of us stayed here whilst on the Coast to Coast walk, and it was a real highlight of our trip. This is a very comfortable place to stay in a stunning setting - for peace and tranquility it would be hard to beat. There is a drying room for kit - a very useful touch (although we were blessed... I stayed at Keld Lodge for one night whilst walking the Pennine Way a few years ago and enjoyed the experience so much that I promised myself one day I would return for a longer stay. I stayed in August for four days and had a wonderful time, we had a friendly welcome from Matt (who has a wicked sense... More

Stayed at Keld Lodge whilst walking the Herriot Way. The location was stunning and our en suite room clean and comfortable. Enjoyed a very hearty beef and ale pie for dinner and a good cooked breakfast the following morning.

We visited Keld Lodge in 2011 and had a wonderful stay. However, revisiting in 2014 was a big disappointment. The room was a little grubby, the shower leaked and the bar was no longer residents only so we did not get the intimate, walkers experience of first time. However, I have to say the food was excellent.

Enjoyed a two night stay at the Lodge over the August bank holiday. We were very warmly welcomed on arrival and Matt and Dave were brilliant in the restaurant. They immediately put you at ease and happily take the time to chat to you as well as offering great customer service. Big thanks to them for being such good sports... More

Good service with friendly staff. There's a limited time for food so be careful if you don't stay there but needs to drop by for a pint or meals. Must leave wet clothing and shoes at the door. Shoe bags are given. Dogs are welcomed in as customers.
