We stayed for a few days for tour. Great food (pork and lamb especially). The staff were warm, friendly and gave great service. The room was spotlessly clean if not the largest (but their last available room). We had a wonderful stay, would certainly recommend it and hope to be back someday.

After a very long day of walking, Keld Lodge is a haven to come to. We had a very good dinner, the room was nice, although the bathroom is rather small. With a somewhat worn mattress, the staff helped out by finding extra "padding".

This was our second visit to Keld Lodge as part of a walking holiday. Again, we were welcomed by Matt who is very friendly and helpful. Our room and en-suite were both spacious and clean with a wonderful, powerful shower. There is also a large drying room with plenty of hanging space too. We were given tea and white chocolate cookies... More

Room clean and shower hot. Food OK but nothing more. If all you want is a functional walking hotel then it's fine. Great location - it really is on the route. Book ahead because Keld has limited options and capacity.

I came to Keld Lodge from Kirkby Stephen on the Coast to Coast walk. It was a cold, rainy day, and I was happy to find that the lodge was warm and very welcoming. My room was small but very comfortable, and the bathroom & shower were great. I had dinner at the Lodge which was also very good. The... More

We stayed at the lodge after a cold and wet day over the high route from Kirkby Stephens via the 9 Riggs. The staff at the lodge are very friendly and helpful in all they do. The food at the lodge was hot and tasty for our hungry group of five. I would highly recommend mend a night at this... More

We arrived here after a fantastic walk over the 9 standards on the C2C and stopping for cream tea at Ravenseat Farm. The staff were very welcoming and efficient and the drying room was very handy. As for dinner, we expected "pub grub", but it was way much more, absolutely delicious. And enjoying good food while looking out on to... More

Arrived tired and aching after a long walk from Kirkby Stephen. We received a warm and efficient welcome from Matt and it got better from there. Our dinner from an imaginative and extensive menu was very tasty. The Black Sheep bitter was in good form. My bedroom was warm, peaceful and comfortable. The Lodge has a drying room for wet... More

Staying at Keld Lodge felt like joining a house party. Fantastic welcome from the barman. Small but comfortable room. Comfortable lounge, where I enjoyed a beer whilst looking out the huge windows on the blustery weather outside. Dinner very good, they obviously have a chef who knows what he is doing. But the best thing of Keld Lodge is the... More

It's definitely worth the trip up the Dale to have dinner at Keld Lodge. You get a great welcome from Matthew, who hosts and runs the place. There are 2 rooms for dining- the conservatory and the back room. We were in the back room which was very cosy and had 4-5 tables. The menu was interesting and varied, and... More
