Stayed here with 3 friends doing the Herriot Way. We felt the location was just unbelievable as we sat eating great food (recommend the curry and the meat balls!) and a couple of Black Sheep beers, while over looking a waterfall which runs right past the bunkhouse. The room for four was totally adequate and very clean. It won best... More

After a very tough, wet day on the C2C walk we decided to set up camp at the first place we got to. We enquired with Ian and he asked if we'd like to see the bunkhouse. It was still raining pretty heavily and as soon as we saw the inside of the bunkhouse we were sold. It is like... More

Stayed here Saturday night with a few friends and enjoyed a few beers round the campfire in a truly beautiful and peaceful spot. Second night was with my girlfriend in the yurt which was tremendous. We also tried the food on night too and the spicy pork meatballs were tremendous. I will continue to spread the good word only if... More

We stayed here with a cycle group. The Bunkhouse is well equipped, clean and heated well. the location right next to the river made it a lovely spot. We used the bunkhouse as a base to ride in Swaledale. Great to come back the hot showers then relax. Recommend the spot.

I stayed at the bunkhouse in the winter and had the place to myself. The couple who run it were very helpful during my stay, heated the cottage before I arrived and provided dinner despite it being out of season. It's a perfect location if you're walking either the Penine Way or the Coast to Coast and is a beautiful... More

I normally go for hostels, thinking bunk barns to be basic, grubby, crowded, sleeping on top of each other places with zero privacy. How wrong I was! This place is fab, has excellent facilities and nice rooms with comfy beds. The owners were very welcoming and supplied us with bottles of beer to save us walking any further to get... More

Stayed here in Oct 2011 with my son while walking pennine way. Bunkhouse is just outside Keld village, but within easy walking distance of pub/restaurant if required. Bunkhouse feels more like a really comfy holiday cottage bookable on a night-by-night basis. Clean, warm and comfortable. Hot showers, clean bedding and towels. Rooms small, but wouldn't go as far as to... More

Ian and Michelle truly are great hosts. What I liked about the place most was the communal atmosphere of the common room. Its really hard sometimes getting to know coast to coasters. The environment is extremely conducive to chatting and relaxing. The waterfall out back is lovely and Ian's Meat Lasagna is killer. Thanks both and good luck in the... More
