If you don't have to stay in Salta, this is the place for you to stay. Just 12 minutes drive from Salta, incredible place to stay, felt like a king in my own castle. Fantastic rooms, service, so friendly that you wouldn't believe.... Rooms are large with antique furnishings. They also have a restaurant with incredible food. All very personalized.... More

This hotel is not a chain product! It has character, and is owned by one. John is a native of Alabama who fell in love with Salta. He and Maria, both delightful, recently took over the hotel. El Castillo was built as a mansion for a rich Argentine family at the turn of the last century. Although renovated as a... More

We stayed 5 nights at this turn of the century Italian made castle in April and truly enjoyed every moment. We have been travelling for a month in Argentina and this place was by far the best place we stayed. The history, the architecture, the grounds, the rooms, the decor, and most importantly, the owners John & Maria. They were... More

We stayed there in June for a week. We are a family with 2 children and had a fantastic week at this little castle. The atmosphere is so nice, cosy and original. The service was good and the restaurant was super. A very helpful and friendly landlord. She helped us with busconnections and various sigthseeing spots etc. A beautiful and... More

We did not stay here but had 2 meals. They were fabulous. Service was excellent and the visit with the owner John was a delight . The Italian castle has a wonderful history . Staff speak some English the owner is from the US.

For me this place is one of the secrets of Argentina. Just came back from my 4th stay there and its a 10er for me. Yes, there are a (very) few small things, that could be adjusted and I am sure its been looked into, but the place itself is unique and the hospitality of John & Maria + the... More

We stayed just one night at the hotel and love the place as it is very charming and quiet. The location is nice for relaxing and going to walk in the Quebrada. Our room was large and furniture with antique furniture. The breakfast was very good with fresh fruits.

We were hiking around and stopped for lunch there (didn't stay at the hotel). The owner and staff were really caring. The food was excellent, we were full at the end of the meal, and the price was average. We were then accompanied on a tour of the beautiful hotel. I definitely recommend this place as a restaurant. Based on... More

The hotel itself has a rich history, is unique, and in a beautiful location. The owners/operators were very gracious and accommodating. Breakfast included freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, baked goods, and coffee. Our breakfast was served in a private room overlooking the beautiful tropical canyon across the street. It is not a 5 star hotel, but was very comfortable... More

The castle is awesome, it is a great location, quiet, with interesting history and architecture. It is now managed by its owners who are doing a great job at renovating it. It has tremendous potential. Maria Eugenia was a great host to us, really friendly. We'd like to go again some other time.
