This hotel is in a good position in the suburbs of Salta and has the potential to be much better. We spent two nights at the Selva Montana whilst on a birdwatching trip organised by Clark Expediciones which now owns and manages the hotel. We had stayed there previously in 2008 and had not been very impressed then. It hasn't... More

Wonderful place on the edge of cloud forest. Amazing birds can be seen in the garden by the pool including hummingbirds, woodpeckers, tanagers and jays. Huge room, huge comfortable bed, properly dark at night, bath, balcony.

When you don't have a tour to one of the atttractions around Salta, enjoy your day at the pool. Spacious rooms with beautiful views onto the garden and the pool. Nice breakfast that you can also enjoy on the balcony. Convenient access to Salta by public transport, bus line #7. Just a bit tricky to get your tarjeta and to... More

The hotel is located in the entrance to the San Lorenzo Canyon (Quebrada de San Lorenzo) so when you are in the room you hear only the water flowing and the birds singing. Eat your breakfast on the balcony looking over the the water and the pool. The breakfast is excellent (bread, cheese, cold cut, jam, dulce de leche, croissants... More

I spent two nights here in April of 2012. The grounds of the hotel were wonderful. I spent my first afternoon sitting by the stream in the back where I was joined by two horses who came to drink on the other side. I also sat out in the sun by the pool for a while. My room was fine... More

Enough accolades cannot be bestowed upon Hotel Selva Montana Ecolodge, in San Lorenzo, Argentina. The whole place opens like a dream when you round the corner and see it for the first time. Be smart: Use the "kincho" and asador to prepare your own local meat and enjoy dinner poolside. Or take a short stroll down the road for an... More

Selva Montana was the perfect choice for us. We came to Salta to enjoy some birdwatching with a guide from Clark Expeditions, which has an interest in the hotel and can help arrange an early breakfast to accomodate birding trips. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the balcony was a nice plus, overlooking the forested quebrada. Not all rooms... More

We selected Selva Montana as a base for trips. a) It has the best access to many different fantastic landscapes of Argentina and well informed staff about nature and routes. b) It is up on the hillside with nice temperature when hotels in Salta have very hot days. c) The surroundings are wonderful with fine nature and beautiful architecture. d)... The hotel is located at a nice place away from the road. We've had some difficulties with the room and made a remark about that and were sent to a new and better room. The room was big, bright, very big and comfortable bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and some choices (other than medialuna... More

The location of this hotel is wonderfull at the top of a hill with a view on the grasslands near San Lorenzo. The hotel has a nice swimmingpool but garden furniture has passed expiration date. Hotel room is basic with good bathroom and nice kingsize bed but has no airco. Breakfast is fine and the staff is excellent and very... More

Dear Marcel, thank you for your comment. Glad to know you found our hotel comfortable. We are sorry we didn't notice your need for an AC, as all our superior rooms have a particular AC each and... More
