Ellen and Don are gracious hosts and our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Le Gorvello is a quaint town and close to the coastal towns of Brittany and Vannes, which are fun to explore. The Cafe is off the beaten tourist path and offers an opportunity to get a glimpse of small town french culture. I was able to... More

Thank you again Don and Ellen. As ever, the welcome was warm, service excellent and the room just perfect. I got to my room and just knew I could relax in my home-from-home. Can't wait to be back again. Xx

Hello Peter, Glad to hear that all was to your liking in your " home away from home" Mornings just aren't the same without you at breakfast time in the café. Hope your school year starts well and we're looking forward to your next visit. Best regards, Ellen and Don More

This was the first place we stayed on our most recent trip to France. We arrived at night and were given a really warm welcome by Don and Ellen, who stayed up and prepared dinner just for us. Le Gorvello is well placed to explore the coast and inland, including Vannes. Don and Ellen are excellent advisors, having lived many... More

From the moment I arrived, I felt like a valued friend. The room was beautiful and so comfortable - an excellent sleep every night. Everything I could have needed was provided, combining modern touches with traditional comforts. The breakfasts were amazing, fresh and plentiful with as much coffee as I needed. Thank you so much, Don and Ellen. You were... More

My fiancé and I spent a lovely weekend at Gorvello Café. As we're both vegetarians, we were grateful for the extra attention Ellen paid to our culinary needs (she is a fabulous cook!). The tiny town is quaint and has romantic lighting by night, which makes it look just like the setting for a fairy tale, and we also discovered... More

This was the 4th B&B on our holiday in Bretagne and it nicely rounded up our 2 week trip, being all that we have come to expect of the best rated B&Bs: extraordinary hosts, great atmosphere, more than enough comfort, clean and well cared for, all of this at a price that can't be touched by a hotel I wasn't... This should have been a wonderful experience judging by previous reviews. The little village it is situated in is lovely and from the outside it looked very promising, but inside was a different story. For what it offered it was overpriced. The bed linen was very tired and the beds not as comfortable as other B&Bs offered. The breakfast was... More

I stayed at Le Gorvello Cafe for nine nights in the middle of September. By the time the ninth night had arrived, I wished I could have stayed another nine nights. What a delightful place to stay in a very quaint village. Don and Ellen, the owner's of the cafe, warmly greeted me once I arrived. The room I stayed... More

Le Gorvello is a beautiful, small village of stone houses about 15-20 min from Vannes. The Cafe and its owners the Andersons are friendly and welcoming. In addition to the ground floor cafe, it has 3 rooms upstairs, one of which is a suite, where we stayed, with a bedroom, bathroom, and large main room that includes a small kitchen,... More

Many thanks to Don and Ellen for a great weekend. Six of us stayed for two nights and we could not have asked for better. A last minute change of accomodation requirements was catered for with ease. The evening meals were a delight and the beers behind the bar!!!!!!!!!
